Wikipedia edit-a-thons have emerged as a powerful tool for communities that are underserved by the lack of diversity among Wikipedia content editors—the Latinx community being no exception. This ‘Latinx intervention,’ a collaboration between NYU Libraries and the Latinx Project at NYU, will train participants in creating and editing Wikipedia entries. The workshop will be led by NYU Librarians with support from Wikimedia New York City. Computers will be available but participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops, as well an idea for a non-existent or underdeveloped Wikipedia entry. Capacity is limited to 50 participants; please RSVP using the link below. Refreshments will be served.
