[edit]Why did Warner Bros. decied discontinue releasing movies on HD DVD
[edit]What were the reasons for warner bros to discontinue releasing movies on hd dvd? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joey13952 (talk • contribs) 02:58, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
- Because HD DVD lost the format war to Blu-ray, back in 2008. Specifically, see HD_DVD#Warner_Blu-ray_Disc_replacements_in_the_U.S. Basically, the cost of continuing to push an unpopular format exceeds the benefit. Same as for 8-track tapes and Betamax. StuRat (talk) 03:21, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
I mean back in 2008, what were the reasons. In january 2008 warner bros. announced they would stop releasing hd dvd movies in june. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joey13952 (talk • contribs) 03:51, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
- Lackluster sales were the reason. As for why that was, there was a rather limited market for higher def optical devices than standard DVDs, in part because streaming video was starting to catch on, while at the same time many people didn't yet have HD TVs that could benefit from HD media. Then there were other media, like flash drives, which are more portable than discs. So, with the limited market for HD optical discs, only one could fill that niche, and Blu-ray won. Very similar to other format wars, or perhaps the Boeing Dreamliner versus Airbus A350. When you have two competitors in a small market that can't support both, one is sure to be unprofitable, perhaps both. StuRat (talk) 04:20, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
Question about Law?

CSU technician Georgie says that Vanessa was raped & sodomized before getting murdered. Perry's probably saying, "My DNA will match the Semen on Vanessa. Sex is not a crime." Stabler says, "Rape & Sodomy are illegal." Perry says, "I never raped Vanessa. I didn't kill Vanessa." Perry's attorney says, "If you're not arresting Perry for anything, then Perry & I are leaving." What's going on? Georgie specifically said that Vanessa was raped & sodomized, so why can't Police arrest Perry? As soon as Vanessa's death gets ruled as a suicide, is it actually illegal for Police to use the Suicide to Prove that Perry raped Vanessa? Becuz of that sad SVU episode(Grief), I'm starting to believe that CSU Technicians & Medical Examiners are Un-Reliable. I only believe that Confessions are Reliable in Real Life.(50.173.3.170 (talk) 21:28, 7 January 2015 (UTC)).
