March 27[edit]

Commas around ‘thus credited’[edit]

Is the punctuation correct in the last sentence of Ary Abramovich Sternfeld article?

[...] He is, thus credited, for introducing the word cosmonautics in the language of science and engineering.

No; the commas should be deleted. Something is set off like that only if it is a parenthetical element in the sentence. Since removing "thus credited" from the sentence leaves a meaningless construction, it clearly isn't parenthetical. Deor (talk) 17:23, 27 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. :) I was going to clean up that myself, but had to go off-line for some time. --CiaPan (talk) 08:05, 28 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It is, correct, if, William Shatner, said it.[1] Clarityfiend (talk) 19:22, 28 March 2019 (UTC) [reply]
