Alphabetical order of same forename and surname, with and without a middle name[edit]

I am curious ... which one comes first in alphabetical order?

Even when they're presented in forename-surname order, personal names are usually alphabetized in surname-forename order—see, for instance, the alphabetized lists of "Notable people" or "Notable alumni" in WP articles. If the two Cianciullis were being presented in such a list, "Michele [nothing]" would indeed come before "Michele Angelo", and both would come after Moses Chan. I agree with the above, but I'm not sure Wikipedia categories are organised that way. I can't find an example right now, but I'm sure I've seen cases where, e.g., Michael Anthony Smith precedes Michael Smith, in the same (sub-)category. Or Donald Smith precedes Don Smith. They must have used defaultsort, otherwise Donald Smith would have been sorted under D for Donald. But maybe they mis-specified exactly how the sorting should occur.
