Do you have a specific question about that submission? What you posted here is just the submission's full text. One thing I will say, though, is that Facebook is not a good source for an article. Look for newspaper or magazine articles about Ranu Mishra. Howicus (Did I mess up?) 17:41, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello -

My submission was rejected due to lack of verifiable sources. I plan on to separate the News Articles from the External Links.

As the majority of my sources are News articles, could I get feedback regarding what additionally is needed?

Thank you - Vance White

Review of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Joe Ellis White Vwhite90057 (talk) 17:25, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Well, many of the sources you provided don't seem to mention White at all. To be good sources, they'd need to be independent and reliable, and cover the subject of the article in depth. Quite a few of the links are just the main pages of organizations that don't mention White. Howicus (Did I mess up?) 17:41, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you - very helpful. We will contact the various Newspaper editors across Oklahoma and retrieve those pertinent articles. The photos in the article are all on file at the Joe E. White Library at Carl Albert State College and were donated by White. Are those okay or should we request the Library verify? Should we include other pictures with various dignitaries mentioned in the article?

Vwhite90057 (talk) 18:26, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Images usually don't make good references because they don't provided context. Furthermore there are issues of copyright: Who owns those images' copyright? Did White donate that along with the photos themselves? Did he own it in the first place? Is whoever owns it willing to release the images under a free license that allows everybody to re-use and modify them for any purpose, including commercial purposes? See WP:Donating copyrighted materials for details on what's required in that regard.
So my advice would be not to bother with photos right now but instead to look for sources like newspaper and magazine articles that cover White in some detail. Huon (talk) 21:01, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you go to http://www.historianbendre.com/p/about.html the author has released all material under under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License and the GNU Free Documentation License. Pleasel let me know if anything else is needed. In the article I had given Media links (video interviews) of prominent historians (who themselves have wikipedia pages) independently giving their take on the life and times of Historian Bendrey which will verify all that is in the article submitted, however this is in Marathi. I would like to request that someone with the knowledge of Marathi review this submission. Currently I am working on getting an English/Translated version but this can take time. It has been over 4 weeks but the article I submitted for review has not been reviewed. What can I do? This article was rejected can I resubmit ?

I wrote the article on an eminent Indian Historian called Vasudeo Sitaram Bendrey

Dear Chaitanya.Errande: I am sorry that it is taking so long. Part of the reason is that we have nearly 2,000 articles waiting, and part of the reason is that your references are not in English and also mostly not on line so that they can be translated. I am going to leave a message with the editors at WP:Wikiproject India and see if anyone there can help out with this. —Anne Delong (talk) 19:42, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for leaving a message but most of my references are in English so I am puzzled.

"Chatrapati Sambhājī Mahārāja Yāñcẽ Caritra" doesn't sound English to me. There are precisely two sources which sound English to me. One of them is Travels in the Mogul Empire, A.D. 1656-1668, Volume 1 which likely doesn't have much to say on Bendrey who hadn't yet been born when that was written; the other (and the vast majority of the non-English sources) is by him, not about him. That's not the kind of significant coverage in reliable independent sources we need to establish his notability. Huon (talk) 21:38, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I declined and blanked the article based on copyright issues: The bulk or entirety of the text was copied from a web site run by a Google Blogger who claims to be this person's grand-daughter. I also declined it because there are not reliable sources independent of the subject which demonstrate that this person is reliable. I left comments on the submission page to guide you in resolving both issues. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 16:30, 23 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
