Why does my article not be published? I changed the references and nothing happens.
- Hello @Semimbatic: your sources are currently just listed at the bottom of the page, but they need to be footnotes that are at the end of the specific sentence or paragraph they prove to be true. Anything you put in his article needs to be clearly sourced, otherwise we could end up with false information that could hurt his reputation. So please take your sources and make them footnotes, see WP:REFB for how to do this. MatthewVanitas (talk) 05:33, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, I am very passionate about the subject that I created a page on. The page is worth of being accepted as it is mentioned alot on other Wiki pages and will create a worthwhile link. TeaDrinker's reason of not being notable enough seems fair however if you watch or know of RomanAtwood, Noah (his son)is a huge part of the vlogs. how can i edit this into being 'notable' as i am sure this page will be relevant to many many people Raybooo (talk) 12:27, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
- Raybooo - Sadly, notablity is not based on relevence to people, but rather how reliable sources mention them. You need to pass The General Notability Guidelines, which says that you need Significant Coverage from Reliable, independent sources. If these don't exists, it's highly likely, the subject isn't suitable for Wikipedia. No amount of editing can change that Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
13:22:53, 11 April 2018 review of submission by J n johan
[edit]I'm having a hard time getting the page to sound like an encyclopedic article instead of a essay. I'm pretty confident in the objectivity of the submission, but as it's my first article, I may be missing the mark completely. Guidance would be much appreciated. I apologize for submitting something sub par. Thank you for your help. J n johan (talk) 13:22, 11 April 2018 (UTC) J n johan (talk) 13:22, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
- @J n johan: answering at Teahouse, so let's keep the discussion centralized there. MatthewVanitas (talk) 05:31, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
Hi there, wondering why my submission got rejected? The subject is a significant filmmaker on par with other documentary filmmakers who have Wikipedia pages. Can you please advise? Thank you.
77sand77 (talk) 14:14, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hello @77sand77:, your immediate issue is how you're formatting your sources. Don't use them as Wikipedia:In-line external links as you currently do, you want to format them as footnotes and make sure the footnote appears at the end of the sentence or paragraph it's proving true. We have a great short tutorial at WP:REFB that should really clear that up.
- Please fix your sources as footnotes, then click Resubmit, and please bear in mind a couple Declines are normal, they're not a condemnation they're just guidance on what needs to improve, and generally if the article is hopeless we'll be blunt and let you know, but at a quick glance I *believe* she meets Notability but since your sources aren't footnoted that wasn't visible to the reviewer. Please make your fixed, then click Resubmit. MatthewVanitas (talk) 05:30, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

[edit]
I neglected to provide External Links the first time around (I know, duh). I have added six, but rather than show the complete url, there is a bluebox with an arrow point up to the upper right. How do I get the URL to show for the external links? Thanks.
Gutchman (talk) 17:15, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hello @Gutchman:, see Template:URL for how. MatthewVanitas (talk) 05:21, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
I am requesting assistance to create a Wikipedia for producer Diego Ave. I've provided plenty of sources that verify his credibility, but have been rejected for a COI. How can we get an entry created for him?
Premierleaguemusic (talk) 19:21, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Premierleaguemusic:, a couple things:
- You need to change your username, since the name cannot be for a group (can't be something you share or hand off to someone else), so "Mike@Premierleaguemusic" or "TrekfanPLMusic" is fine, but not "Premierleaguemusic". See WP:Change username for how to do this.
- Next, your article wasn't declined for COI (though that may be a separate issue) but for not showing Notability. To see what is needed for a musician, see WP:Notability (music).
- Do not footnote other Wikipedia articles, instead WP:Wikilinks them like so: Ritchie Valens.
- Next, you need a few more sources other than explicitly award announcements. Can you find news coverage of his career and impact? Spanish-language sources are totally fine if they're stronger than the English ones you can find.
- If he won a Grammy, you really should emphasize that in the very first sentence, you don't want to "bury the lead".
- Big thing: don't write footnotes manually like "[3]" as though you were on a typewriter, instead use the code shown at WP:REFB to make nifty auto-numbering and clickable blue footnotes.
- I know that's a lot of stuff, but hopefully a detailed explanation helps lay out what we're looking for so you don't have to guess. Hope this helps! MatthewVanitas (talk) 05:27, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
