Italian battleship Francesco Caracciolo[edit]

I've just noticed that User:DeltaSquad833 has created an article for the launched just to clear the slipway Italian battleship Francesco Caracciolo (1920). Looks to be adapted straight from the class article, though I haven't checked to see how direct a copy the language is. I see no need for this article as it offers no extra details over the class article, unlike our articles on the US battleships Kentucky and Illinois. It's also in pretty bad shape, but maybe that's just me. Thoughts?--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 12:38, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe just leave it on for now until we get enough feedback? Probably just move it to draft and see what I’ll do with it.--DeltaSquad833 (talk) 12:40, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Honestly, I'm not sure that the article is necessary or even useful as the class article already covers everything we know about the ship. And I don't believe that this is one of those situations where there's more information available to be discovered. But let's see what others think about it.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 13:18, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I don't generally think there's a point to articles on ships that weren't built, unless there's something significant in the available sources to justify it. For example, Japanese battleship Tosa was involved in weapons tests that were used to help develop the armor layout for Yamato. Parsecboy (talk) 14:20, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@DeltaSquad833:, since it's been a few months and nothing further has come of it, I've moved the article to User:DeltaSquad833/Italian battleship Francesco Caracciolo (1920). Parsecboy (talk) 21:35, 23 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
