Tagging

[edit]

I tagged the categories listed in the "Important Categories" section of the WikiProject proposal, and the high-level categories in Wikipedia:WikiProject Corruption/Categories. —Ringbang (talk) 14:15, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent, this is much needed. -Masssly (talk) 17:05, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I started with categories since they don't need ratings. Will the template have quality or importance ratings? I hesitated to tag many articles in mainspace since I wasn't sure if those tags would have to be filled-in later. —Ringbang (talk) 03:08, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the templates should have "quality or importance ratings", we just haven't decided which articles yet. I'm suggesting that the:
  • Articles with titles/names suggesting that the main subject/theme of the article relates to corruption should be rated high.
  • "Corruption by country" articles should be given medium priority.
  • And corruption incidences mentioned anywhere else, e.g. as a section in a biography article should be rated low.
What do you think? -Masssly (talk) 13:08, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Need of Support?

[edit]

Dear participants of the project, I am currently working as a Wikipedian in Residence at the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) and wanted to ask you, whether there is any support you might like to receive. Please feel free to ask me, whether it is here, on my discussion page, or via e-mail. Please let me know, if there is anything I might be able to do! Best regards --WiR IACA (talk) 09:14, 9 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The first thing that comes to my mind is the Anti-corruption article itself. Right now it's a disambiguation page, but it should be a proper article. —Ringbang (talk) 14:57, 9 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for letting me know, I will definitely have a look at it. --WiR IACA (talk) 15:17, 9 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I am currently drafting an article at User:WiR IACA/Anti-Corruption. I would be glad about comments and remarks. It is currently still somehow more of a plan than an actual article. The structure should, however, slowly become clear. --WiR IACA (talk) 13:46, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I would love your opinion, whether the anti-corruption laws are properly displayed on User:WiR IACA/Anti-Corruption. I am at the same time insecure, whether those sections are too detailed (as most laws have their own article) or too brief (as their full scope is hard to display in few sentences). Thank you very much for your efforts! --WiR IACA (talk) 15:15, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It looks like this is really taking shape now! I'll come back with detailed feedback as soon as I can, but I'm happy because it looks like we will have an article. Thank you! —Ringbang (talk) 01:37, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your efforts to improve the "Corruption in the modern era" section! I plan to carefully read the updated article over the weekend. —Ringbang (talk) 20:43, 24 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your feedback. --WiR IACA (talk) 12:58, 27 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I just wanted to let you know that I opened a new section on the talk-page of Anti-Corruption regarding my draft User:WiR IACA/Anti-Corruption to replace the current disambiguation. I would be glad for any kind of feedback, etc. The article is obviously not complete yet but I would be glad to hear opinions in which way it should develop further. Best reagrds --WiR IACA (talk) 14:35, 20 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A new newsletter directory is out!

[edit]

A new Newsletter directory has been created to replace the old, out-of-date one. If your WikiProject and its taskforces have newsletters (even inactive ones), or if you know of a missing newsletter (including from sister projects like WikiSpecies), please include it in the directory! The template can be a bit tricky, so if you need help, just post the newsletter on the template's talk page and someone will add it for you.

Request for information on WP1.0 web tool

[edit]

Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.

We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Cleaning up the project and members

[edit]

Seeing that there has been very limited activity in the Wikiproject the last 5 years, I suggest that we start over. As I first step I have done a copy edit of the Wikiproject page, but I also suggest removing all Wikiproject members who have not contributed over the last 4-5 years. Let me know if there are any objections or concerns with this approahc. Now that the membership page is working, I hope that particpants from the IACC editathon can sign themselves up here.
