Why join?

I've never joined a project before and I'm not anxious to now, but maybe I should? "We ask that members make at least one contribution to a LDS Church-related article per month" --- I do this already. What advantages are there for me/you if I join? I hope I don't sound belligerent, I'm just curious. Thmazing (talk) 00:46, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

The "one contribution bar" is probably just to prevent editors for signing up for dozens of WPs and not actively contributing to any. Members of a WP work to accomplish WP goals (see WP:PJ) with a particular scope in mind. Wikipedia:WikiProject Scouting is a good example of editors working together, delegating responsibilities, to improve a set of articles. Request for participation

There is significant debate occurring on the talk page of the "Criticism of the Latter Day Saint movement" article. Currently there is a discussion for a title change, but contribution to other issues are valuable as well. Currently this article is listed for cleanup on the Latter Day Saint movement project, and the article needs moderate attention to meet Wikipedia standards. Any participation would be appreciated. Free photo of Elder Bednar in a suit and tie?

Does anyone have a free picture of Elder Bednar wearing a suit and tie? The current photo on his page shows him speaking at a university commencement and wearing an academic robe. I'm concerned that non-LDS readers seeing this photo may come to the mistaken conclusion that he's wearing some sort of Mormon clerical garb (analogous to what a Catholic priest or a Protestant minister would wear during one of their religious services). Version 0.8 is a collection of Wikipedia articles selected by the Wikipedia 1.0 team for offline release on USB key, DVD and mobile phone. Articles were selected based on their assessed importance and quality, then article versions (revisionIDs) were chosen for trustworthiness (freedom from vandalism) using an adaptation of the WikiTrust algorithm.

We would like to ask you to review the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints work group articles and revisionIDs we have chosen. Selected articles are marked with a diamond symbol (♦) to the right of each article, and this symbol links to the selected version of each article. If you believe we have included or excluded articles inappropriately, please contact us at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8 with the details. You may wish to look at your WikiProject's articles with cleanup tags and try to improve any that need work; if you do, please give us the new revisionID at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8. Help with Temple pages

The changes to lds.org mean that all the links to the "official website" on all the temple pages are now broken. A list of all the temples that need to be edited is at Template:LDS Temple, and the part that needs to be edited is the lds_id (near the bottom of the data pages). Instead of

| lds_id              = 0,11204,1912-1-163-1,00

it should be

| lds_id              = gilbert-arizona

You can get the id from the webpage on lds.org. For example the link for the Gilbert temple is http://lds.org/church/temples/gilbert-arizona?lang=eng but all that is needed in the lds_id is the bold part - gilbert-arizona
