Border Collie Userbox (and other unrepresented dog/cat breeds)

I think that we should have boxes for Border Collies and other unrepresented breeds of dog/cats! I would try but i don't know how!R.E.D (talk) 23:26, 29 December 2013 (UTC)

Feel free to tell us what you have in mind: colours, pictures and text. Please note that non-free images are not allowed in userboxes. I can extract colours from images if needed. -- Skysmurf  (Talk) 17:17, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
Here's an example. I randomly picked this (free) picture, picked a brown background from the image and used the text This user likes Border Collies. Feel free to request any changes, though, it's just an example. -- Skysmurf  (Talk) 11:03, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
Code Result
{{User:Skysmurf/Userboxes/BorderCollie}}
This user likes
Border Collies.
Usage
Geez, that's awesome! I do think it's great, but maybe there could be one that says that a user has a Border Collie. But otherwise, I like it! R.E.D (talk) 00:42, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
Not a problem. I've added parameters as follows. verb can be set to "likes", "has", "owns", etc. (default value: likes). singular, when set to anything, produces "a Border Collie" instead of "Border Collies". Examples:
  • {{User:Skysmurf/Userboxes/BorderCollie}} still produces "This user likes Border Collies."
  • {{User:Skysmurf/Userboxes/BorderCollie|verb=paints}} produces "This user paints Border Collies."
  • {{User:Skysmurf/Userboxes/BorderCollie|verb=has|singular=yes}} produces "This user has a Border Collie."
Hope this helps. -- Skysmurf  (Talk) 08:42, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

I saw 'This user considers _____ to be attractive' for Redheads, brown hair etc. Then I was patiently scrolling to see my preference (Black hair and Afro Hair) and I couldn't find it. This two are good for that.

Really Cool

I wouldn't write alumni with a capital letter. What's more, I'd suggest using the proper singular, which is alumnus. Using alumni for the singular is somewhat questionable (in English that is, in Latin it's just plain wrong). I strongly recommend changing the link colour, blue on blue doesn't work very well. -- Skysmurf  (Talk) 13:26, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

Drinks: Alcohol

I'd love to see a Userbox for single malt scotch. We're passionate about it. Wording could be something like "This user has a nose for whisky" or "This user pours himself a wee dram".. I dunno. I was surprised to see that even whisky didn't have a UB yet. 0_o --Derekland (talk) 20:01, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

Ehm... Wikipedia:Userboxes/Drink#Whisky. But if you want something custom, feel free to holler. -- Skysmurf  (Talk) 11:10, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
I'd like to think I improved on the one linked. (Also, it didn't link to ‘Scotch,’ and ‘single malt’ can refer to other whiskys, so.) See: ELLIOTTCABLE/Userboxes/scotchELLIOTTCABLE (talk) 13:45, 11 March 2016 (UTC)

I think there should be a userbox for the number of new articles somebody has reviewed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Science Saturdays (talkcontribs) 16:56, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

@Skysmurf Something similar to a userbox displaying edits. Maybe something that says this user has curated/reviewed X amount of pages. Science Saturdays (talk) 22:42, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

Double-bordering (for lack of a better term)

This is an existing userbox. I'd like to know if it's possible to put an outset blue border, an inset white border, then the content. I can't figure it out, even after an extensive search. TIA. —ATinySliver/ATalkPage 05:51, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

Thank you, Cccp3 for noticing I'd figured it out, with some help; I'd also posted this here. :) —ATinySliver/ATalkPage 18:27, 11 March 2014 (UTC)

Bitcoin Userbox Request

Hoping someone can make a bitcoin and Cryptocurrency userbox. Jkister (talk) 10:49, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

I came up with:
WikiProject Userboxes trades in Bitcoin.

Several userbox requests

Hello. I am requesting that the following userboxes be created:

One that states "This user prefers boxy cars." and perhaps includes a picture of this early-80s Toyota Camry:

1982 Toyota Camry sedan

Also, another that states "This user detests internet culture." I couldn't decide what image should be used here, so pick whatever you think sums it up accurately (but carefully). And, if I can get away with one more request - one that also states "This user rejects the increasingly mainstream internet culture, believing it to be mediocre and cringeworthy." The image used can be the same as the previous one, or maybe just a sad face.

Thank you in advance. I would do it myself, as these are for me only, but I haven't the slightest idea of how to create these. And for all I know, others may like them and use them on their user pages as well.

Temeku (talk) 05:14, 18 August 2014 (UTC)

Also the userbox stating that the user is an administrator, but not in english wikipedia, would be nice. - Melilac (talk) 16:04, 24 July 2016 (UTC)

Reading and James Ellroy (two separate userbox ideas)

"This user enjoys reading."

It's a simpler and more basic userbox than the current "This user enjoys reading anything." and "This user enjoys reading almost anything." userboxes at Wikipedia:Userboxes/Media/Books. It can have this picture maybe? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Userboxes/Media/Books#mediaviewer/File:Open_book_01.svg

Also can a James Ellroy user box be created? I love his work and he is a world renowned author.

"This user enjoys reading James Ellroy."

And it can have this picture maybe? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Ellroy#mediaviewer/File:James_Ellroy_in_Toulouse_9023_-_January_2011.jpg

It would mean a lot if these userboxes were created. So please can these userboxes be created? Thanks in advance! (P. S. I don't know how to create userboxes, so it would be a huge favor if someone could create these.) Thanks Again!PeaceShield5 (talk) 17:39, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

Oh, I forgot to mention, can it be made available for all Wikipedians like that Orson Welles Userbox at the top of the page here? Thank you againPeaceShield5 (talk) 17:59, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

DYKSTATS and FA/GA creation

There were a couple user boxes I hoped would be located at Wikipedia:Userboxes/Wikipedia/Personal statistics, but unfortunately it appears they do not currently exist.

First while there are a couple userboxes for how many DYK credits a person has, I can't find one for how many times a person's DYK credits have made DYKSTATS (for receiving over 5,000 views while they were on the main page). I.e 'X of this users articles featured in the Did You Know section received enough views to be added to Did you know statistics'. That could probably be worded much better but i'm sure you get the picture.

Secondly there are userboxes to signify a person "helped promote" both FA and GA articles, but I see no userbox that states a person specifically created an article that is now a GA or FA. I was thinking there could be one that just says you created the article, and another that specifically says you created the article and are responsible for its nomination/promotion.

If someone could create any or all of these userboxes that would be awesome. Thanks. Freikorp (talk) 04:02, 6 December 2014 (UTC)

If you reply with any of these newly created user boxes please ping me, thanks. Freikorp (talk) 05:23, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
