Yaa Asantewaa as the name implies was named after the Queen mother of Ejisu Yaa Asantewaa who led a war against the British Colonialists.
The Yaa Asantewaa Girls' Senior High School Crest is one of the most beautiful in the country. It is more admirable to know the interpretations of the symbols enclosed in the blue frame.
- The torch symbolizes light, brightness or vision.
- The sword symbolizes royalty.
- The gun symbolizes bravery.
- The book represents academic excellence.
- The hen and chickens stand for motherhood.
Yaa Asantewaa Senior High maintains an ongoing alliance with their boys' school, Prempeh College called Amanadehye.
