Zuglio is a comune (municipality), former bishopric and Latin Catholic titular see in the Province of Udine in the northeastern Italian autonomous region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 110 kilometres (68 mi) northwest of Trieste and about 45 kilometres (28 mi) northwest of Udine in the Val Bût.
Its territory include the Pieve of San Pietro in Carnia, one of the oldest churches in Friuli. Zuglio is also home to an archaeological museum including remains from the old Roman town (Iulium Carnicum) and the whole Carnia.
Ecclesiastical history
The Diocese of Zuglio (Italian) or Iulium Carnicum (in Latin) was established in 380 AD and suppressed in 740, its territory being merged into the Patriarchate of Aquileia.

In 1967 the diocese was nominally restored as Latin Catholic Titular bishopric of Zuglio (Italiano) alias Iulium Carnicum.
