  • This is a cross-wiki abuse case and have been around for quite some time and I've been chasing this across at 10-15 wikis. A quick source code search of undeleted pages can be found here.   •  Clerk note: To be frank, I'm having trouble understanding what the intended purpose of this filing is; most of the accounts and IPs listed have made a small number of edits years ago, less than a handful of accounts is non-stale, and none are what I would consider "active". We can technically do some cataloguing here, but I'm not really convinced of the benefit of moving the case to an unblocked VOA that has not edited in over a decade and blocking a bunch of very stale accounts just so we're allowed to tag them. The primary reason I'm not closing this outright is that the current case name also isn't great, and I'm not sure why this was archived under an unblocked master the last time around, and that I do think there might be some value to running CU. --Blablubbs (talk) 17:23, 7 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    The intended purpose was partially housekeeping: to have the correct master instead of an account that was created seven years later (the list is chronological). I am not proposing handing out (re)blocks to all 101 accounts/IPs listed here. However, I was hoping that the clearer documentation could allow for better MediaWiki:Titleblacklist entries than the one I made a few days ago and perhaps better range blocks – the last four IPs used give us 2A04:CEC0:1000:0:0:0:0:0/45 (block range · block log (global) · WHOIS (partial)), for example. As you've pointed out, a CheckUser may be helpful here. Some patrollers, like Minorax and DanCherek, have been dealing with this issue for quite some time. I’m not too familiar with this part of Wikipedia, so let me know if you need any clarification.

These are throwaway accounts that have been used to create one nonsense draft, which is then deleted, and the account isn’t heard from again.

There’s a similarity between these accounts’ names and those of the throwaways that created the ‘12 dwarves’ series (see my CSD log for those; they’re all in November).

They follow the same pattern of two or three names followed by a space (important) and then a random string of numbers.

I was advised to come here by @Tamzin:. She said that the more people who know about this, the better. I recently discovered an LTA (been going on for months) whose activity was obscured by the fact that their drafts were always deleted. This person creates a draft with a G1 title and contents, then after it’s deleted, recreates it under a visually similar name. This draft that this IP created is identical to these: [5], [6], [7], [8], [9]. She blocked the IPs who created the other drafts.   • Blocked. You know, I don't really get the point of this SPI. They create a nonsense draft and abandon the account. The drafts get deleted as nonsense. The drafts are, of course, nonsense, but they aren't spam, a copyright violation, a BLP violation, or oversightable, which automatically makes them better than at least 50% of stuff in draftspace. I'm not convinced that blocking and tagging these accomplishes anything at all. But not blocking them doesn't, either, so I guess I'll keep pushing the buttons. Joseph Hruistak 587646 has created Draft:Suzuki between the mirror with an almost identical style to Draft:Mixiñg/Sailors.
