Penrose does not explain why the 3-dimensional version of his example is non-illuminable. The explanation requires some familiarity with analytic geometry which I have to assume. We can not expect Wikipedia articles on advanced topics in math and science to require no more than high school knowledge to be understood. undo Tag: Reverted
