user page[edit]

It is felt that the article you created at Alberto bustani is not suitable for a Wikipedia article, which must have a notable subject and be verifiable. I have moved it to User:Abustani, which is where users are free to write about themselves. You are at liberty to move it back into the (Main) namespace but bear in mind that if you do so, it is likely to be nominated for deletion.

Note, however, that the purpose of a user page is to enable active editors of Wikipedia to introduce themselves to other editors. Wikipedia is not a general hosting service, so your user page is not a personal homepage. Content unrelated to Wikipedia or its editing is likely to be removed.

Please see the user page guidelines, especially this section for more information.

Please read WP:AUTO. The recommendation is always: wait until someone else writes a biography about you. -- RHaworth 06:58, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

MfD Nomination[edit]

I've nominated your user for deletion under the Miscellany for deletion process, since you have made few or no edits outside of your user page since you created it. User pages are intended for the use of active Wikipedia editors to aid them in their work. Your page seems intended to use Wikipedia as not a free webhost or promotional service, which Wikipedia is not.

We appreciate editor contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that your user page belongs here. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Mikevensel. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them. You are free to edit the content of the page during the discussion, but please do not remove the "Miscellany for Deletion" template (the box at the top). Doing so will not end the discussion. --Calton | Talk 05:12, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Possible Conflict of Interest[edit]

If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Alberto Bustani, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.Jezebel'sPonyoshhh 15:22, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Second request[edit]

Please review the conflict of interest information that I have linked to above - the edits that you are making to the Alberto Bustani article are inappropriate and do not conform to Wikipedia policy. The edits that you are making are unverified and require reliable sources. If you continue to add unsourced information the material will likely be removed per BLP policy. File copyright problem with File:Alberto Bustani.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Alberto Bustani.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Skier Dude (talk 05:49, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Alberto Bustani Adem[edit]

Hi, I've been cleaning up the article on Alberto Bustani Adem, and after having done so, I'm not sure that he qualifies to have a Wikipedia page. There are a few issues with the page, but the most important one that must be corrected is to show that he meets the general notability guidelines. You can look at the details yourself, but the key idea is that he need to be the subject of significant coverage in reliable, secondary sources. The references currently in the article don't qualify as significant coverage in this way, because each of them is a primary source--that is, his WFF participation is from the WWF home page, the honorary degree is from the University of Sheffield site, etc. In order to have his own page, Adem needs to have been covered in magazines, journals, general and reliable online sites, etc. If you know of any such articles, please add links to them to the page. Eventually, though, without such sources, the article will need to be proposed for deletion. If you have any questions, please ask on my talk page or on the article's talk page.Qwyrxian (talk) 04:23, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Alberto Bustani.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Alberto Bustani.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 15:48, 7 October 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Acather96 (talk) 15:48, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Final request[edit]

It has been requested multiple times that you not edit articles with which you are directly involved. As you continue to edit the Alberto Bustani Adem article without discussing the desired changes on the article talk page, I will once again direct you to read WP:COI and follow the advice therein. This page is full of requests from other editors that you respect Wikipedia's guidelines and policies with regard to editing articles where you have a conflict of interest - to continue to ignore this information is disruptive and may lead to your editing priviledges being removed. Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 17:18, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

=====Proposed change

I will change my current position as President of the Monterrey Metropolitan Area of Tecnologico de Monterrey as it will finish on December 31

Is there a source you can provide to confirm the move (such as a website announcement)? If so I will add it to the article for you. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 18:22, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dates[edit]

Could you please go back through the article on you and unlink all of the dates (like 1987)? Wikipedia style guidelines state that we do not link dates. Also, let me know when you're done with all of your changes; there are other things that need to be changed (some of that information is excessive and needs to be removed), but it's easier for me to wait until you're done. Qwyrxian (talk) 03:32, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am done with the dates[[]]

Sorry, I meant, let me know when your done with whatever additions you want to make. I see your still making other changes, so I'd rather wait til that's finished before I start cutting stuff, just so that we don't keep going back and forth. Qwyrxian (talk) 09:44, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

ok I wil do that. I hope to finsih making additions very soon

I have finished so far

Another final warning[edit]

Alberto, several years ago you were warned about editing the WP article about you. Now you've started to do it again, this time violating WP:NPOV. You have to understand--this is not your article for you to say great things about yourself. Given that you seem unable to edit neutrally, you should simply stop editing that article. The next time you do so for anything other than a simple grammar change, you will be blocked. Qwyrxian (talk) 04:49, 16 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry, that was not my intention, I just wanted to complement part of what was my worked during the years I spent working at Tecnologico de Monterrey

Today I run my own firm, I am, since January 2013, President of Bustani Sustainable Growth Strategies, a company focus on integrating sustainability into core business strategies. Can I add this to the page, as it describes what I am doing now. Can you provide advice on this?

Has this been discussed in independent, reliable sources? Remember, we should generally only include things that are important enough that some other source already discussed them. Qwyrxian (talk) 03:09, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not yet...so I better wait until the firm develops more...thanks!

Okay. If new information arises in the future, I recommend that you start a new discussion on Talk:Alberto Bustani so that any interested editor can evaluate the info, and then you don't have to worry about whether or not your edit is neutral. Qwyrxian (talk) 00:06, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with your custom signature[edit]

You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.

The problem: Your preferences are set to interpret your custom signature as wikitext. However, your current custom signature does not contain any wikitext.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box. (It might already be empty.)
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

More information about custom signatures is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. 18:31, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
