California's 34th congressional district covers part of Los Angeles County and is California's most heavily Hispanic district. Its current representative is Democrat Lucille Roybal-Allard. Rep. Roybal Allard is running against Republican challenger Christopher Balding in the 2008 election.

Voting

John Kerry received 69% of the vote in this district in 2004; George W. Bush received 30%.^[1] The district voted for Phil Angelides 63-32% in 2006,^[2] Dianne Feinstein 74-21% in 2006,^[3] Barbara Boxer 74-21% in 2004,^[4] keeping Gray Davis 57-43%^[5] and Cruz Bustamante 53-33%^[6] in 2003, and Davis 63-27% in 2002.^[7]
