Pemberton railway station serves the Pemberton area of Wigan in Greater Manchester, England. It is on the Wigan Wallgate to Kirkby branch line.

The station is situated on the A571 Billinge Road. The platforms are at the bottom of two ramps (one on each side) which until recently was cobbled on the Kirkby bound platform. Once on the platform, the line underneath the bridge is obscured by overgrown trees.

The majority of passengers at Pemberton use services to Wigan town centre and Manchester. The services to Manchester are significantly busier than those to Kirkby.[citation needed]

Pemberton is served by major bus routes 631 and 632 operated by Stagecoach Manchester (every 10 minutes combined from Wigan town centre).

Service

There is an hourly service Monday to Saturday daytimes westbound to Kirkby, for connections to Liverpool Central and eastbound to Manchester Victoria via Walkden. Many of these continue via the Caldervale Line to Todmorden and Blackburn, though the last departure of the day terminates at Wigan.

There is no evening (after 19.30) or Sunday service. A normal service operates on most Bank holidays.
