Unsourced article[edit]

Virtually everything in this article is unsourced. As this is a BLP, this situation cannot remain. I'm challenging all of the content, and propose reducing it to a stub with verified information, until reliable sourcing can be supplied. This may help:

Mathglot, as you can see, I did a translation in 2018 from the de-wiki article. But I believe that others should do whatever they think improves the article. If you think reducing it to a stub improves it, I will not challenge that. If someone else thinks there's another way, same thing. --Rosiestep (talk) 02:21, 21 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Rosiestep, yes, I noticed. Depends how one understands "improves", I guess. I think it would clearly improve the reliability of Wikipedia as a whole, while slashing and burning the information available about Rieger, which *might* be true. Then again, who knows; perhaps the German author was Eva's agent, or stepdaughter. The "other way", and I would say, "best way", would be to add references to support existing material, if they can be found.
On another point: How would you rate your ability in German? I'm by no means a native speaker, but several of the things I noticed made me think you don't know German at all. If that's the case, you shouldn't be translating articles from de-wiki. Are you familiar with the translator pages and the user language fluency categories, where you can ask for help from those with knowledge of German? Mathglot (talk) 02:31, 21 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Mathglot, I wasn't aware there was a place where you can ask for help from those with knowledge of German. Can you please provide a link? Thanks. --Rosiestep (talk) 02:40, 21 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Rosiestep, that's funny, I was going to recommend adding the {{Rough translation}} maintenance template as a first step, but it looks like it was already placed there in 2018 as a section template, funnily enough by yours truly! I've moved it to the top of the article now, for better visibility. The next step, is adding an entry for this article to WP:Pages needing translation, and I've done that here. To make a request for a translation, see WP:Translation. To search for translators of a specific language, like German, see Category:User de-N (also, User de-5, User de-4, User de-3); see also Category:Proofreaders de-en. Unfortunately, these categories are not culled for inactive users, so you might have to search down the list to find a few likely candidates. Hope this helps, Mathglot (talk) 06:24, 21 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It's possible that the two books listed under "Bibliography" are the likely sources of the article's content, but the article lacks citations/footnotes for these. Msoul13 (talk) 13:35, 15 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
