LDS[edit]

Stoneman is in a LDS category, but nothing in the article supports this. Either the article needs to be changed or the category link deleted. Thanks Hmains 03:47, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'll update it later today. He was in the Mormon Battalion, which is bypassed in the sketchy antebellum section. Thanks for noting. Hal Jespersen 14:33, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Asessment[edit]

Long article, with pictures, requires more references Ikokki 22:57, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

II Corps?[edit]

After the Peninsula, Stoneman was an infantry commander, commanding a division in the II Corps - but: in command of 1st Division, 3d Corps, Sep. 10 to Nov. 15, 1862? (muhranoff, ru-wiki --89.178.225.107 (talk) 15:39, 15 October 2013 (UTC))[reply]

It says II Corps and III Corps, which is correct. D1/II was July 17 through August 15, D1/III was September 13 through October 30, 1862. Hal Jespersen (talk) 16:25, 15 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Baez[edit]

The article mentions Joan Baez using "Stonewall's" instead of "Stoneman's" but I've only heard "Someone's"65.79.173.135 (talk) 14:17, 14 July 2014 (UTC)Will in New Haven65.79.173.135 (talk) 14:17, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

racist Anglos?[edit]

The article says, "The official story (still the one in all the history books) is that a group of racist Anglos, . . . ." Which of those history books (no citation) says, "Anglos"? Since Wikipedia recognizes "Anglos" as a term which is offensive to some, what other word could you use? "Descendants of northern European immigrants"? Do you have some proof that ALL the history books have that "official" (what makes it official) story? The claim lacks reliable secondary sources cited. (PeacePeace (talk) 20:52, 18 April 2017 (UTC))[reply]

The article has been restored to a previous version. Those additions have been removed and weren't cited to a reliable source at all and were lacking a neutral POV.
