How about "Coffin Cheaters [23] [24]" added by Zondor .... ??? notable but not an article. Pickle 12:19, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redundant to category?[edit]

If all that this page does is to list motorcycle clubs in alphabetical order, then it probably isn't much more useful than Category:Motorcycle clubs. I'm not saying (yet) that it should be deleted, since I can see some potential for annotation and alternative orderings, but the current state of the list struck me as rather plain. Does anyone have plans to flesh this out at some point? — TKD::Talk 00:13, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I concur; only benefit I can see of having a separate list like this is if some additional information is provided - i.e. when the club was first formed, and where (i.e. mother chapter location, and, if known, how many members and/or chapters the club has (if known, and if the club is not notable enough to have its own article). Garth of the Forest (talk) 04:26, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
See also List of motorcycle gangs ... same consensus decision should apply there I would think. Garth of the Forest (talk) 04:28, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Let's get this list sorted once and for all[edit]

I have just requested at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Motorcycling that members of the motorcycling project come here and see if consensus can be reached on what should be listed in this article. I think right now it is a mess. There is no clear policy on whether red links should be allowed for non-existent articles and whether there should be any overlap with List of outlaw motorcycle clubs. Please discuss and state what your preference is.

My preference is for no red links in this list and for no overlap with List of outlaw motorcycle clubs. --TimTay (talk) 10:14, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agree 100% with Tim. No reds and no overlap. In its current state, it is ridiculous. R69S (talk) 14:25, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The club listed as "unforgiven" in Il. links through to the wiki page for the 1992 film Unforgiven driected by Clint Eastwood —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ali the flatlander (talkcontribs) 03:27, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

One More Club To Add[edit]

The Freemasons actually have their own (at least national, if not international) Motorcycle Club called The Widow's Sons.

This is my first edit, I hope I'm doing everything right! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pomoerectus (talkcontribs) 09:21, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It is a very large bike club with lots of chapters across the USA and internationally. Perhaps you could write an article about it? --Biker Biker (talk) 09:38, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think enough source material exists for an article on Widows Sons. See Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). It might be better to look at requested articles for subjects. Also, the cleanup listing has lots of worthwhile work to do. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 14:48, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The table here and at List of outlaw motorcycle clubs[edit]

List of outlaw motorcycle clubs has Location founded. I started this with simply Location. This table also has a Notes column instead of Citation column. Change these if you wish. I like consistency, but this way might be better. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:38, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I am considering splitting the location into Location and Country to help sortability. Thoughts? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:56, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Also, maybe my moving that see also hat to a see also section wasn't such a good plan. You pick. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:58, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Major edit template[edit]

I reverted the intermediate edits tagged with Template:In use because there's no good reason to warn other editors away from a page while someone is working out a major revision. Workpages are a perfectly good tool for someone whose edits will take a while. I went ahead and copied the reverted version to Talk:List of motorcycle clubs/Workpage (I guess I should have used the new Drafts namespace, but it's the same difference). Please copy it over when ready.

Note that several editors have been maintaining this page for a while, and it might save effort to discuss major changes here on the talk page before spending too much time on it.

Thanks for that. I prepared it on my computer and updated it. I should have added the blank table with content added all in one go. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:56, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Bringing content here[edit]

I would like to bring List of outlaw motorcycle clubs into this article. I see no need for a merge procedure per WP:MERGEINIT. Objections? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 19:33, 12 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I object. I'd like to discuss your reasoning for this move, and perhaps seek some consensus with other interested editors first. I see the other list still exists; what is your reasoning for the duplication? They are two very separate topics. Garth of the Forest (talk) 19:39, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Also opposed. The two lists have distinct criteria for one thing. The terminology has different English vernacular and biker jargon meanings, and several years ago we settled that. —Dennis Bratland (talk) 22:20, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Could do with something explaining what the ethos of the 'non outlaw' clubs is. I stumbled across this while hitting Random Article, and as a non-biker, it seems utterly obvious that the Hell's Angels are a motorcycle club. Herll's Angels doesn't use outlaw above the fold, they're a club, they ride motorbikes. So if there's a clear reason not to see outlaw as just a subset of clubs (in which case merger is valid) someone should spell it out.Nickpheas (talk) 16:22, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
