Discussion[edit]

Whoo! My first ever article! Crazy Eddy (talk) 22:56, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

120 grandchildren?[edit]

Does that seem a little much to any of you? Codejkoolguy (talk) 04:35, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's a lot, certainly by the standards of most western countries in this point in time. But if you take the squareroot of 120, you get 11 (rounding up). So if she has 11 children, and each of those had 11 children, you'd get 11*11=121 grandchildren. Turn back the clock 100 years, and that does not seem so unlikely. Even with high infant mortality, it wouldn't be impossible to have this number of grandchildren surviving past the age of, say, five. World's oldest mother?[edit]

On the CNN report she claimed to have a son that was 54, which would make her 66 when she had him. There have only been three other women to have done so at that age, all in the last decade and with modern medicine. This makes her claim seem very suspicious and implies that she could be exaggerating by decades. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.111.184.92 (talk) 22:54, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, that does make the claim unlikely, if indeed the CNN report said so. However, Wikipedia is not a place for original research, so unless you find a reliable source questioning her claim on this account, it shouldn't be added to the article. The purpose of the article[edit]

Why should we even have this article, should we give articles to everyone who claims an extreme age, we should just put her in the Longevity Claim's article.Kingcouey (talk) 18:35, 15 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If she was born in 1878 as claimed, she would have been 130yrs old in 2008. This doesn't seem very believable... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.25.118.94 (talk) 00:01, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

I've added a notability tag. This woman was clearly lying, and isn't really notable at all. I'm unsure why we should keep this article around. Wilybadger (talk) 20:00, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Well, maybe the year count is wrong. can it be she counted "old" islamic years? They are shorter... Are they not?

But why bother... she is dead now, as we will all be some day, no matter what we believe in. So leave her.
