Addition of Seth MacFarlane to the cast[edit]

Currently no sources report Seth MacFarlane reprising his role as Mike for the sequel, so please cite a reliable source that states MacFarlane will return to Sing 2, thanks -Gouleg🛋️ (TalkContribs) 21:26, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have found an old source ([1]) including his name, but that is the only one. More recently, Forbes discussed the fact that his name is not on the cast list, so agreed, we would need another source confirming (not IMDb or blogs). BOVINEBOY2008 21:30, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Looking at the EW source, it does not confirm that MacFarlane (or the rest of the same cast) would be in the sequel, it specifically refers to the first Sing movie grossed $430 million at the box office and that a sequel will be on its way -Gouleg🛋️ (TalkContribs) 03:40, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
True! That's what I get for skimming... BOVINEBOY2008 12:07, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I found a more recent source from September that actually lists MacFarlane as a part of the sequel's voice cast: https://droidjournal.com/sing-2-release-date-cast-and-more-details/20071. Thoughts on this? Zucat (talk) 21:18, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Source seems dubious to me. Their Editorial policy say they cover tech news for India, making this topic beyond their stated goals [2]. Not to mention that more mainstream sources that have covered the film haven't confirmed this makes me question the source. Not to mention googling droidjournal indicates the source is fairly new and not widely cited by other sources. BOVINEBOY2008 22:00, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Pentatonix[edit]

Hello. Are there any authoritative sources indicating that a musical group is included in the cast of a full-length animated cartoon? All that was found, just a short video from one YouTube channel, posted about a month ago: [3]. But I did not find any information in reputable news sources related to cinema. If the information about the addition of the musical group Pentatonix to the cast is not confirmed, these changes in the article on the future animated film should be deleted due to false information, original research, and so on. Wikipedia articles are written based on authoritative sources and links to sources are left. AntonBanderos (talk) 20:18, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It is the second film in the franchise. 2600:1017:B0CD:4047:A578:7477:57B5:BED (talk) 15:29, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

plot[edit]

Can we shorten the plot? I feel like it's too long — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:647:5701:F6D0:98CC:4219:7083:43E3 (talk) 17:35, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to, unfortunately I am yet to see the film. You can always be bold and try to write a plot summary, you can read more on WP:PLOTSUM -Gouleg🛋️ harass/hound 21:18, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Sing 2[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Sing 2's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

About critics[edit]

Please do not use "mixed reviews from critics" to the lead, it doesn't make sense. It's totally confused about Rotten Tomatoes earned it as positive (70%) and Metacritic earned it on average (49%), but the audiences love it. Also, some critics loved the film too because they almost don't criticize it too much. Fortunewriter (talk) 06:14, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You answered yourself about why we classified it as mixed reviews; you said RT graded it positive while MC graded it as average, if RT graded it as fresh and the MC score was above 80-90%, then we can agree that's a positive reception. "Audiences love it", that doesn't tell me much unless you can get a RS which talks about the public reception for the film was better than the critics' reception -Gouleg🛋️ harass/hound 14:11, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
When the aggregators disagree, then we shouldn't be summarizing in the lead. In fact, any summary would need to be tied directly to a reliable, secondary source that has done that analysis for us. This has been discussed many times at other film articles, and the general consensus is to remove the summary statement altogether when consensus is not clear. --GoneIn60 (talk) 11:27, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Description for the release delay[edit]

"Sing 2" was supposed to be released on Christmas Day 2020, but it was officially pushed back to 2021. There is currently no description of the delay. Hope to add an official explanation for this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Polinlc2 (talkcontribs) 04:30, 8 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It is added! 2600:1017:B0CD:4047:A578:7477:57B5:BED (talk) 15:28, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite Protection for This Page Was Fine[edit]

The way Graeme Bartlett protected Onward recently should be happening to the Sing 2 page right now. There has been persistent disruptive editing, and I think it should be protected until further notice. I actually support it when Graeme Bartlett protected Onward forever. I'm not trying to be the boss here, but I was saying my thoughts. Also, after the protection settings change to indefinite, pp-protected needs to be added. 2601:204:203:5110:EC57:FF5B:301:C9F3 (talk) 17:00, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting to link the article Sing 2: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack in the soundtrack section, and also exclude track list and charts, as it is featured in the same article. 122.162.6.17 (talk) 16:20, 19 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Partly done: I've wikilinked the name. Personally, I don't see why we cant include the tracks and charts, but I'll leave that up to another passing editor to decide (aka keeping the request open) as this isn't my thing. Aidan9382 (talk) 19:49, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
