  • The hook is bland, and slightly misleading, given that the ground has not hosted any ODI matches at all since 1985. I also have some concerns about the article in general: where is the claim that the ground is the "national stadium" of Guyana based? From my own knowledge, I thought that the Bourda used to be the national stadium, and was replaced by the Providence Stadium? Harrias talk 21:42, 6 October 2013 (UTC)

  • I initially wondered why you wanted Harrias to take a look, since the hook issues would surely remain, even if the "national stadium" claim have been addressed. It turned out you edited the hook rather than propose an ALT hook, which obscures the objections with the original wording. The hook remains bland, in my view.
I'm a bit skeptical about an article that is almost entirely derived from a single site and its data, ESPNcricinfo, and that is about the five ODIs held there to the exclusion of virtually everything else. You list a bunch of records for the stadium, but tell nothing about the sports complex at all: its size, the number of people it seats, whether it hosts sports other than cricket, how frequently it's used and by whom, and so on. In an article ostensibly about said complex, that's really not adequate. As WP:DYKSG#D7 states, "Articles that fail to deal adequately with the topic are also likely to be rejected." ALT1 ... that the Albion Sports Complex hosted five One Day International matches between 1977 and 1985?

  • Is ALT2 true, though? The article mentions a first class match between Guyana and Barbados in 2010, and that's surely between international opponents. BlueMoonset (talk) 03:38, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
  • Guyana and Barbados are the domestic teams of the West Indies (member of ICC). They played a first class (domestic competition) match which is obviously not an international match, and that's why I've linked international cricket in the hook. Zia Khan 08:27, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
  • Technically, they are still national teams though, despite being a "domestic" competition. So I would be uneasy about this hook. Harrias talk 10:43, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
  • Leave out the difference, Guyana and Barbados are independent countries as such as Harrias says. —Vensatry (Ping me) 12:37, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

Per WP:DYKSG#C2 ("Don't wrongly assume that everyone worldwide knows what country or sport you're talking about."), I'm suggested the one-word "cricket" addition to ALT3 to make ALT3a. I've struck both instances of ALT2 because of the "international" issue, and the original hook because Harrias had a point that I agree with. BlueMoonset (talk) 01:11, 27 October 2013 (UTC)
