Saptashrungi[edit]

A sculpted on the steps of the temple

  • Article meets core policies and guidelines of the DYK criteria, long enough, neutral, cites sources with inline citations and appears to be free of copyright violations and plagiarism. Hook fact is accurate and cited with an inline citation in the article. Article should be ready for displaying on the main page, well done!♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 20:11, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
  • I'm not sure I understand the hook. Does it just mean: "... that there are figures of Rama, Hanuman, Radha, Krishna, Dattatreya, and tortoise on the steps to the Saptashrungi temple built in 1710 AD (pictured)?" If so, I don't really see what's interesting about that. If not, that should be clarified. I also think the article needs copyediting.--Carabinieri (talk) 01:04, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
ALT1: ... that the eighteen-armed 8 feet tall icon of Saptashrungi (pictured) is believed to be self-manifested? Redtigerxyz Talk 18:26, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
Adding icon indicating questions need to be addressed. BlueMoonset (talk) 21:00, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
  • Edited and unrefrenced pargraph deleted. The ALT1 is also sourced and picture added. In the original hook, the revised hook could be
  • ALT2: ... that there are figures of many gods and also includes the tortoise (pictured), an unusual feature, on the steps to the Saptashrungi temple built in 1710 AD?
I was hoping that it would be posted today as it is Shivrathri festival today in India, also celebrated at this temple.--Nvvchar. 07:40, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
  • Review needed to see whether latest edits have addressed the original issues in the copyediting call, and to check the two new hooks, ALT1 and ALT2. (I've struck the original hook per Carabinieri.) Reformatting Nvvchar's last post to make ALT2 more clearly visible. BlueMoonset (talk) 22:30, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
  • Issues addressed, AGFing on the non-english sources but seems all fine, nice expansion and doesn't seem padded like many do. Good to go for ALT 2.--Gilderien Chat|List of good deeds 22:44, 25 March 2013 (UTC)
  • I wanted to use this as a lead hook, but the second picture doesn't have a caption (unless "icon" is a caption). Could this be solved? Mentoz86 (talk) 17:19, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
Icon was a caption. Replaced. Redtigerxyz Talk 17:33, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
