September 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you recently added commentary to an article, Lindsey Graham. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them, and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. However, keep in mind that even on the talk page of an article, you should limit your discussion to improving the article. Article talk pages are not the place to discuss opinions of the subject of articles, nor are such pages a forum. Thank you. – Gilliam (talk) 21:14, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Creffett. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Greg Murphy (politician) have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. creffett (talk) 23:56, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Pelosi quote in Trent Kelly[edit]

I've re-added the Nancy Pelosi quote you removed from Trent Kelly as "subjective". While Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy does indeed mean that Wikipedia itself wouldn't make the claims Pelosi made. But the fact that Wikipedia itself won't espouse any particular viewpoint doesn't mean we can't describe other people's viewpoints where they are noteworthy. There's a difference between Wikipedia disagreeing with Kelly—a matter of opinion—and Wikipedia stating the fact that Pelosi disagrees with Kelly.

Politicians don't exist in a vacuum, and where a notable politician has views on another politician's actions, those are quite possibly (though not necessarily) worth mentioning in the article.

Finally, I should note that, based on your IP address, it seems likely that you are Kelly or one of his staffers. Wikipedia editors often take a dim view of articles being edited by people with a connection to their subject. I would strongly encourage you to disclose your affiliation with Kelly in future edits, and request that uninvolved editors make changes on your behalf rather than making them yourself; for more detail on this, see the conflict of interest policy and plain and simple conflict of interest guide.
