December 2016[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Yaganti a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Meters (talk) 06:54, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The new name seems to make sense. Are there any English sources that refer to it by that name? Since you have already created an article at the new target now we will have to get an admin to move the article if you can show the new name makes sense. Meters (talk) 06:57, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Article titles[edit]

I think you may need to slow down a bit with your article renamings. For example, you moved Varma (Surname) and Mohyal Brahmins incorrectly and it just creates more work for other people. - Sitush (talk) 17:38, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely Sitush Actually one of my friend asked me to change mohyal to Mohyal Brahmins I've gone through the article and then changed it.If I did any mistake I'm extremely sorry. Varma is not a name it's a surname so I changed it.Abhiran (talk) to Sitush (talk)

I understand but "Surname" should be "surname" and "Brahmins" should be "Brahmin" - just the way we do things. - Sitush (talk) 21:11, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Okay Sitush from next time onwards if I want to move or change names I'll inform you.Abhiran (talk) to Sitush (talk)

Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into List of Brahmin dynasties and states. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 22:47, 12 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ok Diannaa from next time when ever i copy any content from wikiarticles i'll include {{copied}} tag. And also If i copy anything and paste i'll intimate you Diannaa. Thank You! Abhiran (talk) to Diannaa (talk)

I see by your edits to Hindu philosophy that you are still not adding the required attribution, as required under the terms of the CC-by-SA license. Please have a look at this edit summary as an example of how it is done. Please leave a message on my talk page if you still don't understand what to do or why we have to do it. Thanks, — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 21:34, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for March 15[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Panjabrao Deshmukh, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Maharashtrian Brahmin. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:12, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Final warning[edit]

You've been warned about disruptive editing many times but you've consistently removed such warnings and notices as "remove useless content". While you have the right to remove warnings, removing it as such is just another example of your disruptive behavior. Any further disruptive editing you will either be topic banned or your editing privileges completely revoked. If you have trouble understanding policies then you may contact someone like Kautilya3 who also edits in this space. I also note that he has already warned you about discretionary sanctions pertaining to this area, so treat this is a final warning. —SpacemanSpiff 03:23, 13 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Torgal Jagir[edit]

Please stop creating rubbish such as Torgal Jagir without providing reliable sources. A large chunk of it was unsourced and this is not considered to be a reliable source per discussion at WP:RSN - it is self-published. I am sure you have been told this some time in the past. - Sitush (talk) 03:45, 13 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

And this edit, elsewhere, is one of many examples of you massively misrepresenting what the sources say. I know it was some months ago but you're still doing it now. - Sitush (talk) 09:32, 14 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your refs[edit]

Dear Abhiran, I'm concerned that the sources you are using are very old, and very unreliable. As a veteran Wikipedian myself, let me offer you some sincere advice. If you're looking to find a citation for some statement, use Google Advanced Book search and in the "publisher" window there type: "university press." In the time window there, restrict yourself to sources that are no more than 55 years old, ie confined to the period 1962 to 2017. If you don't find a source in your search using these restrictions, then remove your statement. Otherwise, I fear you will end up in needless controversy. All the best, Fowler&fowler«Talk» 15:58, 13 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Infoboxes[edit]

If you are going to add infoboxes by copy/pasting, you need to fix them This one suggests that the article includes information from the 1911 Encyclopaedia Britannica. I've just spent far too long trying to find the EB entry and it does not appear to exist. - Sitush (talk) 08:43, 14 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Stop it, please[edit]

You can't do this sort of thing without providing a reliable source. I am finding instances of you adding unsupported caste claims (always Brahmin) at numerous articles over a long period of time - it is not acceptable. Please remember WP:V. - Sitush (talk) 07:56, 17 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Akshobhya Tirtha moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Akshobhya Tirtha, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. — InsertCleverPhraseHere 04:42, 23 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Your articles did not meet our standards for inclusion on Wikipedia. Additionally you have admitted your account was deliberately compromised, and you have socked with multiple accounts. Removing talk page access as this is becoming a waste of time. RickinBaltimore (talk) 18:47, 25 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
