MBK Entertainment is a subsidiary label of the CJ E&M Music Performance Division created following the merging of FNC Entertainment (formerly FNC Music) and Core Contents Media formed in 2014.[verification needed]
FNC Entertainment, formerly FNC Music, was a subsidiary label of the CJ E&M Music Performance Division[verification needed]. The name FNC stands for "fish and cake". Founded by singer-turned-producer Han Sung-ho, it started off by exclusively managing musicians but changed its name to FNC Entertainment in 2012[verification needed], and began to broadened their business field of entertainment. It has since January 2012, been based in its own company offices in Cheongdam-dong. They had the third largest market share in terms of music sale, behind SM Entertainment and YG Entertainment.[1]
Core Contents Media (CCM) was the main entertainment management label of the CJ E&M Music Performance Division. CJ's company GM Planning (now known as the CJ E&M Music Performance Division) acquired and integrated the three companies — MAXMP3, Poibos, and Mediopia[verification needed]. However, in order to reduce the size, a separate subsidiary was created[verification needed].
