Thanks for the review :@TimTrent: I clicked through all the links, none of them are dead? Can you tell me which one(s) aren't working? I reworded a few things to make it sound "less of an aura of faux notability" There are certainly press releases, so just to be clear, I cannot use those, or those picked up and reprinted by outside outlets at all? Most of the important information is from independent sources such as INC. Magazine, the Star Tribune, and Twin Cities Business Journal so I should still be ok. I will work on this, thank you.CarrieMarie21 (talk) 18:37, 24 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) It looks like Timtrent might not have gotten your ping because of the capital letter. The {{Ping}} template is a little fussy that way.
The first, fourth and sixth references do not work for me, so I am guessing that those are the dead links mentioned in the review of Draft:Field Nation. As for press releases, they are not useful references because they are not independent of the subject, being primary sources. Just as you probably wouldn't trust a judge who was best friends with your adversary in court, so too shouldn't you trust an article about a company that has been written by the company's own marketing department. WP:PRIMARY says that "[a]ny interpretation of primary source material requires a reliable secondary source for that interpretation. A primary source may only be used on Wikipedia to make straightforward, descriptive statements of facts that can be verified by any educated person with access to the primary source but without further, specialized knowledge". That is more or less the extent to which press releases are useable in Wikipedia articles. I hope this helps answer your question. Let me or Timtrent know if you have any further inquiries! /wia /talk 02:17, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
This is very helpful feedback! I will rework this. Thanks Wikiisawesome CarrieMarie21 (talk) 03:32, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Timtrent: @Wikiisawesome: I have fixed the broken links, changed some wording, and looked over my sources again. I do have reliable sources, and the press releases (source #'s 7,8,9, and 10) are used only for "straightforward, descriptive statements of facts that can be verified by any educated person with access to the primary source but without further specialized knowledge". I will submit it for review again. CarrieMarie21 (talk) 13:08, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I think I have demonstrated that Field Nation is a notable topic. I have 15 sources, 4 of which, as I mentioned above, are press releases for the purpose of descriptive statements of facts, but the other 11 are all independent sources, that could all be argued to be reliable and with significant coverage of the topic. I think the strongest and most significant sources are #1, 2, 3, 6, and 14. The Star Tribune is a regional source, Inc. Magazine is national. CarrieMarie21 (talk) 01:02, 26 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits to Draft:Field Nation while logged out. Making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of more than one account or IP address by one person. If this was not your intention, then please always remember to log in when editing. Pretty much everyone forgets to login at least once or twice. Other editors, however, might start to view such editing with suspicion if it becomes a regular occurance. I only noticed this because of this edit made to your talk page. If that was not you, then please accept my apologies in adavance. - Marchjuly (talk) 21:50, 28 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes that was me, I will make sure I am logged in in the future. I suppose there is no way I can fix that now? (remove my IP?) CarrieMarie21 (talk) 12:34, 29 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That's OK CarrieMarie21. I did the same thing myself a few times when I was just starting to use Wikipedia. You cannot have the IP account deleted, but you might be able to have the any record of the IP address removed from the edits you made using it. Try clicking the "Just use this link to ask for help on your talk page" link at the top of WP:OTRS and someone who knows more about this kind of thing will come by and help you. Good luck. - Marchjuly (talk) 21:56, 29 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good! Thanks for the assist Marchjuly CarrieMarie21 (talk) 17:58, 30 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
