Userpage semi-protection[edit]

Dear Dagordon01: Welcome to wikipedia. I noticed you had placed the {{pp-semi-template}} template on your user page. That template is only for semi-protected templates, not for user pages. Among the things that template does is add the page to a category for semi-protected templates, which is how I found your userpage. To note a user page is protected, please use something like this: {{pp-semi-usertalk|reason=to prevent anonymous IPs and new users from making disruptive edits}}. That is the correct template to use for a semi-protected userpage. (The reason is supplied because the default text is meant to make it handy to prevent disruptive new or anonymous users from repeatedly requesting to be unblocked from wikipedia. Specifying the reason changes that default text to make it clear you wanted protection from disruptive users, and that you aren't one.) Also, I wanted to let you know that just placing the template does not semi-protect the page. Only an administrator can semi-protect pages. To request the page be semi-protected, please go to the requests for protection page, but first see the protection policy. Because your page isn't actually protected, I went ahead and removed the {{pp-semi-template}} template and didn't replace it with the {{pp-semi-usertalk}} template. Thanks, and feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions. AubreyEllenShomo (talk) 22:04, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Clarifying Vegetable Oils[edit]

Hi Dagordon...

Back in 2008, you added some substance to List_of_vegetable_oils edition: [[1]].

That article is now getting a shake-out, and some of the things I'd like to do are add citations and improve readability and clarity. Can you help by providing citations to the material you added, or failing that, give some substantive general links the material you added, perticularly concerning leaching with respect to edible oils? Failing that, I'm just going to trim it, 'cos I cant find anything.

Suggest we continue over at the Talk:List_of_vegetable_oils page.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
