Thank you for telling me this, but if you'll see, I've noticed my problem already, and slashed it out before it was marked. But once again, I'm sorry. --haha169 (talk) 00:38, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary, which wasn't included with your recent edit to Talk:Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Thank you. Based on the lack of edit summary and fact that the entire page was blanked, I reverted your archiving of the linked article as vandalism. Simply adding an edit summary will help prevent mistakes like this. Thanks! jonny-mt 02:32, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

I'm certain that I provided a summary, although it is fully possible it slipped my mind. I think I need to take a break. Thanks for reminding me! :) Smiles for everyone! --haha169 (talk) 06:26, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:ChirstmasTipton.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:ChirstmasTipton.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 19:56, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Okay...very weird. I never touched that Hotel Vancouver article....and that image. When was it added again? You guys can go and delete it. Whatever.--haha169 (talk) 23:50, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

SSBB sale dispute

read the damn SSBB talk page kthx Wikipedian06 (talk) 23:46, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

Hmm. Isn't there a reflist at the end of the discussion on the talk page? In any case, I'll just direct-link it. Source It's in Japanese, though. Wikipedian06 (talk) 23:51, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

Writer's Strike.

The old format was fine during the strike. It was a list of shows which were ongoing, how many episodes left until they ran out, etc.

Now that the strike is over, that table is useless. What we need know is an "archive" of the what happened.

Since different shows ended up being affected differently, I split it into seperate tables.

Is the split perfect? No. These are the impressions I got as to what happened. Refinement will fix that, change names and contents of tables, etc.

Ungrouped is really just the original table, still containing those shows which don't have enough information to put them in another table.

Duggy 1138 (talk) 06:31, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

I agree there are problems with it. And, yes, the ungroup section really needs to go ASAP. If you can come up with a better format, I'll be happy to help you improve it. I don't feel that, on the whole the formating is the problem, rather errors that crept in during the process... but I'm willing to look at any options.
Um... I have written a short paragraph for each of the sections. Badly written short paragraphs, but short paragraphs.
Duggy 1138 (talk) 02:05, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Back to You, Law & Order, K-Ville seem to be "shortened season" rather than "postponed".
Duggy 1138 (talk) 02:03, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Most of the ones left, have little information, so far, on the page so it's hard to tell. I've been through it a few times and tried to find all that can be moved, but I know I missed some. I was surprised by the number I missed previously. I know that there are citable sources with information on many of them, it's just a matter of finding them... something which I'd like to do but not today.
Duggy 1138 (talk) 02:17, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Do you ever get the feeling that now the strike's over you and I are the only ones who really care about the page now? Now it isn't news, no one else is interested in editting it? Duggy 1138 (talk) 06:06, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I've gotten a bit lazy with edit summaries. Sorry, I'll try to change that. Duggy 1138 (talk) 23:54, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm all for moving the "ungrouped" section into the "body", it looks unfinished otherwise. (You've been right about this the whole time). I've just been doing very little on wikipedia the last couple of weeks and this is a big job. I'm willing to do, say, one network a day, if you'd be willing to "double check" my work. I'll be dumping them in the categories they seem to need to be in, but that'll be mainly guesswork. Duggy 1138 (talk) 01:49, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Please don't add scroll boxes to Reference sections

I'm sure you're did this because you saw it on another article, but please do not place scroll boxes around the references in a reference section like you did on Al Gore.[1] There was previously a template created that did exactly that, but it was deleted because of concerns that it hides the references and raises accessibility concerns.[2] --Bobblehead (rants) 18:55, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

The consensus was reached in June 2007, several months before you added it to the Al Gore article. But like I said, I'm sure the only reason you added it to Al Gore is because it was added by someone else to an article you monitor. My note was just an FYI for your future reference. --Bobblehead (rants) 01:56, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Isaac Brawl.png

Thank you for uploading Image:Isaac Brawl.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 13:04, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

What? I changed someone's image to low-resolution, and added a fair use rationale, and it gets tagged? Wow...okay, I'll elaborate more.--haha169 (talk) 20:00, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Ungrouped Shows.

I've done my best, but, unless new information appears, I just can't get any more shows out of the "unknown" list. Duggy 1138 (talk) 10:08, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Thank you, thank you very much for my very first Barnstar. It wasn't necessary, but it is appreciated. It wasn't all me, but it's good to see that it's mostly done. I just wish that there was something we could do about the final "unknown" shows. Some will come with time, some with research, but I'm afraid we'll never know the answer on some. I highly doubt that I will get blocked for that, probably some admin will delete it, but thats about it. In fact, chances are that admins won't even care. Its quit a minor rule, and discussions regarding this have been "a bit of an over-reaction". However, I'll delete it and be on the safe side.

Search with Wikipedia

I am not sure to contact regarding this matter, but I saw that you are a pretty active wikipedian and so I thought I would ask. I am very tired of the crappy search engine that wikipedia uses. Is there not some way to mimic google's search where if you misspell something it asks you "Did you mean _____?" or displays close matches to what you are trying to say? If I am unsure how to spell something, it come back blank and then I search google, it finds what I mean, I click yes and then the wikipedia entry comes up on google. Is there anything that can be done?

Yes I have. I hate it when other people mess up something that people work hard on. The edit war is pretty minor in my opinion though. We have bigger fish to fry. the fan fiction task force... sack36 15:40 11 May, 2008

The Wikipedia Project, Fan Fiction had been made inactive. I have re-activated it and want to know if you are still interested in pursuing this. deepsack (talk) 22:49, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
When you were involved, who was the project lead? Did any work get done on organization of the project? deepsack (talk) 00:53, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
It may end up being just the two of us if I can't find others interested. If it is, I'd be more comfortable in a cooperative stance than a hierarchical one. deepsack (talk) 16:36, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
Ok, I give. What's a GA? deepsack (talk) 05:29, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
"I give" is a colloquial shortening of "I give up" used in the late 1950's and 1960's. Maybe relegated to upstate New York, I don't know. I was just expressing my bewilderment of yet another bunch of letters to learn. deepsack (talk) 16:10, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Can you please add some images of damage in this article. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 23:54, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, it is a problem. However you can upload copyrighted image from BBC for use in this particular article about a historical event to depict the topic better. It will be a unique historic image, and the copyright for it is most likely held by the person who took the image or the agency employing the person. And the image should be tagged {{Non-free historic image}}. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 00:00, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

WP:VG Assessment

Hey there,

You recently assessed an article via WP:VG/A, True Tears. While the way you assessed it is correct, and I agree with your classification, it is the custom at WP:VG to make assessments more than just a 'rating'. Most regular assessors create a new section on the talk page, where they list very specific point-by-point tips for improvement. WP:VG is a very high achieving project (check the recent signpost article), and our principal way of doing that is providing dedicated editors with suggestions and feedback all the way to FA. For the article, there's more than enough points to discuss. If you're new to the assessment process as a whole, I'd suggest you give it a try and post some suggestions on Talk:True Tears.

Feel free to ask me any questions. If you have any questions on the assessment process in general after reading the above, maybe the talk page of WP:VG/A is a better venue than my talk page. It's on my watchlist too. User:Krator (t c) 18:25, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Good work on recent earthquake

Good work on keeping NPOV on recent earthquake article.

Now if we could just do something about your U.S. political choices... Readin (talk) 01:47, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

So why is it that people who oppose freedom in Taiwan usually support Democrats in the United States? Readin (talk) 02:32, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

In my experience it has generally been true that people who oppose Taiwan's independence support U.S. Democrats. A notable exception is Michael Turton, but he has complained about how as a liberal (lefty) whenever he quotes a pro-Taiwan U.S. politician it's usually a Republican he quotes - someone he disagrees with on almost everything but Taiwan. Readin (talk) 04:19, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

No, this discussion no longer relates to the article which is why it is here instead of on the article's discussion page. You do make an interesting point about liberals supporting independence for Tibet. When I see their fervor I feel frustrated. Why do they put so much energy into the slim chance of replacing the Chinese oppression with a more local dictatorship, but don't have much interest in maintaining the freedom and democracy that already exists and just needs a little outside help to continue existing? Readin (talk) 20:54, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Are you saying you hope they unite someday, or are you just saying you think China's imperialist dreams are unstoppable? Readin (talk) 23:44, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Ok, so you favor Chinese annexation of China because you don't understand Taiwan's situation, not because you don't care what the Taiwanese want. When you say that "Taiwan historically was a part of China" you are correct, but that was more than 110 years ago. More recently Taiwan was historically part of Japan. And more recently than that, Taiwan has been an independent nation.
More importantly, when you say that "Taiwan itself has its own dream of uniting as well", you are not talking about the Taiwanese people. Taiwan was not a democratic nation until 1995, the voices of the Taiwanese people were suppressed. Instead what you heard were the voices of the authoritarian government that had moved to Taiwan from China. That government did dream of reconquering China for itself, and it brutally suppressed Taiwanese nationalism and Taiwanese culture. Chiang Kai-shek wanted to unite with China, the Taiwanese people had no such dream. Despite the many years of propaganda Chiang forced down Taiwanese throats, most Taiwanese still do not dream of uniting with China.
You are an American, and yet you object to the way your government behaves and disagree with what it says, so you understand that there can be a difference between the people and the government. For many years the Taiwanese disagreed with their government, but unlike you they were unable to voice their opinions. Instead the government simply declared that they all agreed with what the government said, and too many people in the outside world believed those lies.
And now that the Taiwanese finally are able to speak for themselves, they are trapped by the old lies, the new strength of China, and the need to appease the U.S. government so we'll keep selling them arms for self-defense. Readin (talk) 23:44, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure what the difference between "annexation" and "reunion" is since everyone pretty much agrees that it will be China taking over Taiwan. The result will not be a country called "Taiwan" or even "Tina" or "Chiwan". Taiwan will become part of China in any union - that is annexation.

We don't need to continue the conversation if you don't want to. As I said I've often wondered why people there seems to be a correlation between American liberalism and opposition to Taiwan's independence. I think I have some understanding of your thinking now. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Readin (talk) 23:52, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Quake

Superb adding of that para, just what was needed - as I tried hard to convince people in talk! Same is true of 'Foreign and Domestic aid', IMHO - but when I moed it before, it got moved back...in the interests of avoiding an edit war, I've left that alone. But I do feel it degrades the quality of the article. A summary para, like yours on reactions, would be ideal. The fact that Cambodia gave $10,000 is hardly notable. --  Chzz  ►  02:24, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

But, keeping this in mind, I hope you can give me a bit longer to address your feedback. fixed. And don't fail it yet. Give me some more time. Buc (talk) 18:55, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

It was a mistake, I'd have though that was obvious. As for Golden Sun, it's really too different from MGS to model it on that. I didn't think Brawl was the best example either. What I think would be best is a game that's at least ten years old and had similar successes. Buc (talk) 06:08, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Re: Help

Well, all I did to the Isaac image was remove the white background the image already had, leaving a transparent background. With an image like that in a file format that supports transparency (like .png), I'd much rather the background be transparent, as to not distract anyone or make it look bad, especially in infoboxes. That said, I'm not sure what you'd want me to do on the Smash Bros image. It already has a transparent background that looks great and I don't think it would look as good if you added a new background to it. In the situation it's in, I think it would look better to just remove the border Wikipedia has on it and just let it blend into the page (which I've now done) rather than adding an unneeded background. The only exception would be if you added in the background from the original screenshot. It might not look quite as good, but it would look authentic, and that usually seems to win out in the end. -Platypus Man | Talk 21:48, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

No, I don't have anything quite like that. I just use Photoshop (and to a fairly basic extent) to remove the background from images. I'm sure if you Google around, you can find something, but if done poorly, the image would look worse. And when talking about authenticity, I don't mean trying to recreate what the background looked like, but keeping the background of the screenshot in an actual screenshot. I've found that when people try to create or add to images themselves, it usually ends up looking pretty lame. They think they're being creative, but unless their skills match those of, like, a graphic designer, then it's not going to look very good. -Platypus Man | Talk 23:10, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

I need some help

I can't find the time to work on the smash bros articles or even go on the wiki until my finals are over. Can you become a full time co-owner of the Smashbros task force?--Smashbrosboy 02:49, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Ok, that's fine too. You are now officially the co-owner of the Smash Bros. Task force. Congratulations.--Smashbrosboy 02:49, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Haha, I was just there as you sent me the message. The new format looks great! Thank you for uploading a Smash Ball. I can use that to make a barnstar for our task force.--Smashbrosboy 02:53, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Yay, our image is safe!--Smashbrosboy 03:06, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

If I get my way, we will have the original Smash Bros. article an FA by the end of August if not earlier. I have updated the members page with your name as Co-Owner. That image is great as it is, but if someone could do a render of the Smash Ball itself, that would be awesome.--Smashbrosboy 02:57, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Ooh, I forgot that it was copyrighted. Oh well, your image is good enough for us.--Smashbrosboy 03:01, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

TAXI

Sorry, guy, but those aren't cop lights on the top of that vehicle. It's a sign that says "TAXI" quite clearly in English (as well as presumably Chinese). 68.73.94.131 (talk) 04:26, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

I have no dog in this fight -- I'm just telling you like it is. It clearly says "TAXI" whether you see it or not. The pic is blurry, but it is clearly there -- what you think are police lights is a sign with (from left to right) a couple Chinese characters in red, "TAXI" in black lettering, and more Chinese in red. But I really don't care -- I didn't make the change in the first place. Quite frankly, I don't think the pic belongs in that section and needs further explanation in the text regarding why cars are being disinfected, which seems a rather peculiar practice to be wasting resources on in the middle of providing EQ relief. 68.73.94.131 (talk) 04:41, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

WikiTemplates and the Brotherhood of Nod article.

Hello there. A short while ago, when making an assessment on the Brotherhood of Nod article, you mentioned on its talk page that the article featured a number of WikiTemplates that may require "fixing". I was wondering, could you be a bit more specific about this? I ask because if the infoboxes in the article's "Nod philosophy and ideology" section in particular could be replaced with something which looks better and is thus more inviting/enjoyable to read, then I would definitely consider changing these infoboxes accordingly.

Could you give me an example of a WikiTemplate which you feel would be suitable for the infoboxes in that particular section of the article? Kalamrir (talk) 06:57, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Re: Image request

Hey. Sorry, but no. I'd love to, but due to the white background (which should be transparent) meeting with the almost white backing to the letters (which should not be transparent), this one is harder than a lot of them. When it comes to the transparent PNGs, I do them if they're easy, but if they're harder, I'm less likely to expend the effort to do it. I mean, it can be done, and probably not even with too much difficulty to someone who knows what they're doing, but that's not me. And besides, as long as it has a white background (ie the page instead of an infobox), no one can tell the difference. -Platypus Man | Talk 22:58, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Just thought you should know that our little friend Wikipedia06 has added TopTenReviews back

He inserted this to Ocarina of Time's article.

t is also ranked #65 on TopTenreviews.[1]

Anyway, I'm telling you this because I removed netjack from the reception..which he added. It had a wiki article here but I added it to speedy deletion since it wasn't notable (it also was previously deleted but then brought back with like..3 sentences...citing Digg and Kotaku for notability). So he kept reverting my edits to add his site...btw, if you check the edit log he insulted me but...he didn't even check that the site he was adding back was removed from wikipedia.

tldr; He's hostile and inserted back again something you told him not to. --HeaveTheClay (talk) 01:45, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Twilight Princess

I only changed the pending vote on WP:VG/A, not the talk page (and the guy who did it left a good explanation at the edit summary). I could also ask you about commenting on the Peer Review or recommending a good copyeditor to work in the article, but you must be busy lately. igordebraga 13:59, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Reasoning is this? Because A ratings require two editors to approve, I say Support. It seems to match criteria fine; the plot may be a little too long and the Reception might need a bit expansion. However, it can be considered for FA and is definitely useful to readers. Just a few minor edits to the article and it would be improved to be allowed at FAC again. Support If another support or oppose is given, I will leave the requested assessment summary in the talk page. --haha169 (talk) 05:32, 22 May 2008 (UTC) ::::Seems fine to me, i Support this, what about nominating it for FA? Assessment request: (B/low) for Los Altos High School (Los Altos, California)

Assessment Request Los Altos High School (Los Altos, California)

(B-class/low) Really well-rounded article. Deserves a b-class rating. It doesn't apply to more than just the local area, so it gets a low on the importance scale. I marked to sections that need to be updated to at least 2007, if not 2008. You have the makings of a GA article in my opinion. The first paragraph of the history needs some in-text citations as does the part about Wynne Satterwhite and George Perez in the intro. Also, each Notable Alumni should be cited to assist with a GA-status request. I hope this helps you with this article. — Calebrw (talk) 03:30, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

video game consoles seventh generation (edited ps3 audio capabilities)

If you remember, on June 2nd I mentioned that v2.3 of PS3's system software added to its audio capabilites. You told me that you would assess my edit of that section. Sorry it took long (completely forgot about it) so I edited it today. So just to make sure I did it right and as cleanly as possible, just check it up for me. Thanks.--LF2 (talk) 01:57, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Go to the talk page of history of video game consoles seventh generation in case you need to remember. And to see the edit itself just go to the XBOX360/PS3/Wii comparison table and scroll down to audio.--LF2 (talk) 02:30, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, I'm too busy right now to take on any additional peer review requests. Good luck with the article, though! – Scartol • Tok 02:26, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Would you like me to do it? Sorry if its a bit rude, but I would really like to get this article featured soon. It is amazing that it has transformed so much since it was first created when I saw it. Thanks, --Meldshal42 (talk) 21:39, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Brawl

As long as we fix the problems from last time, sure we should definitely renominate. And yeah, I'll help fix it up and co-nom :) Judgesurreal777 (talk) 18:01, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

I think you've got it, the name of the game is "Standardization". Let's structure it like any other game, trim the gameplay section, fix any other issues, and nominate it. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 19:21, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Well, we definitely should nominate it soon, but we should make sure all the issues from FA are dealt with first...I'll try to take a look at it tomorrow, and edit it a bunch if needed. Then yeah, late tomorrow might be good. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 05:42, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
Having looked it over, it really doesn't seem that bad....longish in gameplay, but they may offer specifics in FAC. I say, nominate it :) Judgesurreal777 (talk) 01:21, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Shiny globe

  • Just curious, but what is the code/link or whatever that you need to put to get the shiny thing? Are there any similar things that you can do to the "Wikiglobe"? By the way, I took the opportunity to vandalize your vandal box while I was over there lol! Deamon138 (talk) 06:16, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Success! I've worked out where the coding for the shininess was, and I reckon I'll be playing around with its formatting and stuff on my own test page. Awesome! Deamon138 (talk) 19:19, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Rofl, thanks for the "Shiny Barnstar Globe Background"! You work pretty fast. Two questions about the coding: does using "< code >" (without spaces) and its / ending tag, mean that everything inside them gets formatted as code and everything outside gets formatted as non-code? And the word "background" I assume puts the image in the background, but how do you get something to go into the foreground? Oh, and I use Firefox 2 most of the time, but I use IE7 sometimes as well. However, after noticing the comment about Firefox 3 in your vandal box (which also showed that the ball doesn't bounce on Firefox 2, though that could be a joke?), I now know that version 3 has come out. I was expecting Firefox to alert me when it had come out. Oh well, I'll get it tomorrow most likely. Deamon138 (talk) 19:52, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
  • I think it would take me more than a day to do my userpage to a good standard. At the mo, it consists of a vomit of userboxes, which isn't exactly user-friendly.
  • You don't have all those browsers do you, or are those what other people have and tested your page with for you? I did wonder about the centering thing, it seemed a little strange. By the way, are your "about me" and "vandal" boxes meant to be slightly off screen (they are on Firefox 2)? Also, on the tabs on your userpage just below the blinking welcome sign, the "information" one does nothing, the "about me" moves the page down to the "Information That You Need to Know" box, and the "vandal box" tab moves the page so far down, it appears blank. The other two tabs appear to work (I don't read Chinese so I can't be sure). Are these problems with the page, or is this just because of the browser I use? Deamon138 (talk) 15:42, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Aha! Downloaded Firefox 3 and your page looks aesthetically fine, with the boxes in the right places now (and I can see the ball bouncing!). Still, I noticed that the refresh button for your "time since coming to page" doesn't work; I think the user who made the page it links to has deleted it. As for the new browser, so far it seems pretty good, definitely shinier (NB: I am not obsessed with that concept lol) than the previous version. One quibble I have is that AVG's link scanner doesn't work with the new version, which is a shame.
  • Also, I myself have a Wii (tis a fantastic piece of gaming technology), though I didn't know you could use browsers on it, but this is probs because I've never used the online features of my Wii (or in fact my PS2). Deamon138 (talk) 04:29, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Don't worry, I understand how Wikipedia draws you in. Back at the start of '08, I had no interest in editing, and now I'm doing it every night! I mean I've got an AfD going on, and a likely Mediation discussion coming up (yes I like conflict), amongst other things, and that's just on Wikipedia never mind everything I get up to in real life (Ha! WIkipedia isn't "real"), so I'm fairly busy myself. So much to do, so little time I guess. Deamon138 (talk) 22:33, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
  • Hey, sorry I haven't replied to your previous comment until now, I've been very busy. As you said, people time their comments to coincide with each other it seems, although my Afd was rejected and seems like turning into a merge/portal proposal (bizarrely) and my RfM looks like being scuttled today, so I wouldn't put ARBCOM past that one. Incidentally, I noticed your Grawp comment on another talk page, and a mention of "H A G G E R ?" appeared in the RfM. What a coincidence lol! oh, good luck with your FAC, it looks pretty good (though I'm no judge of FACs!), one day I will get that game lol. Deamon138 (talk) 00:54, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
  • Haha yeah, pretty simple. Though ironically I reckon it's easier to be on the FAC "panel" or whatever that dishes out the criticism, leaving it up to you to run around like a headless chicken trying to fix all these little problems, when instead of saying "do this", "do that" or "fix it", they could actually have a little edit themselves, no? Anyway, is there a time limit or anything on when you get to find out if your nomination has succeeded? Deamon138 (talk) 22:56, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
  • I see, thanks for answering my question. And by my last comment on your talk page, I meant that a lot of the comments (before I posted on the FAC page) seem to be "here is a problem", followed by a "Done+comment" by you. Even with outside help, you're having to do a lot of work in that sense, so well done lol. I've got the FAC page watched now, so if I think of anything to improve it, or find any cites/sources, I'll let you know. Deamon138 (talk) 23:42, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Super Smash Brothers Brawl Assessment

Hello Haha, I was wondering if you'd mind the article being removed from the assessments for now, seeing as it's a FA candidate? I've picked it up a few times with an eye to assessing it, since it's been there so long, and every time I end up wondering if the improvements I'd suggest would be genuine improvements or just personal preference. I suspect that's why nobody else has reviewed it yet either. If the article passes FA then A-class is redundant anyway, but if the attempt should fail the improvements which stem from fine-tuning it should push it into A-class anyway. Relisting at assessment would probably result in a smooth transistion to A-class. What do you think? Someoneanother 10:03, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

It's not going to fail :) Oh and Haha, would you be so kind as to strike out the corrections I transposed onto the talk page to do box? I'm working through them and want to know what's done and what's not. Thanks! :) Judgesurreal777 (talk) 16:53, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
I'm certainly hoping not, but the option's there. Re: Haha, you've not forgotten anything, the article was listed on Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Assessment over a month ago and has so far still not been assessed - that's what I'm referring to. If you're happy for the assessment to be cancelled for now please remove it, apologies that it has not been assessed yet. Someoneanother 17:35, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm such an amatuer in editing. How do I use the reflist code? I tried it but all I saw was numbers and I don't know how to put the references there. The WP Template reflist didn't explain well. Can you see if I did it correctly this time, only without the reflist? Mega Man Battle Network 6. Moogle 12 (talk) 10:40, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Yoh, I followed the format. But something seems to be wrong. Only one of the refs shows the url, the rest, a big space.Moogle 12 (talk) 21:42, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

I have a problem. I can't find any interview, "when did they start developing", and other stuff for the Development. I used Megaman Zero 4 as a basis for my in-game refs, is it like..."Mog: blablablabla" (Mega Man Battle Network 6) Capcom Japan, 2006"? And do you really think, if i follow what Artichoker said on the article Talk, it can become a GA? Moogle 12 (talk) 01:00, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Brawl FAC

Hi, I would just like to let you know that I have placed comments on the FAC page for Brawl. Overall, the article looks pretty good and I support it. I have left just a few suggestions that you can maybe use to improve the article.

On an unrelated note, I would just like to say that I am a fan of the Super Smash Bros. series and might even join the the taskforce later on. Right now I am swamped trying to improve the Pokémon articles which are in terrible condition as of current.

One day I came across the main task force page and it looked like a mess, so I thought I might as well clean it up because I was bored. :) Anyways, I'll see you around, and good luck. Artichoker[talk] 21:28, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Enumeration in article merging

Thanks for your encouragement. I'm trying to address possible OR in Aftershocks of 2008 Sichuan earthquake reported by CEA while trying to merge with List of 2008 Sichuan earthquake aftershocks. I'm testing several ideas in how to merge (my current sandbox represents a plain, vertical merge), but I can't figure out how to get row enumeration to work separately. (See my sandbox for a visual of the problem.) Actually, I have no idea what magic makes enumeration work in the original Wiki table that I copied. (Here is proof I'm new.) Any idea or reference? The Working Man's Barnstar
For tirelessly working to elevate Super Smash Bros. Brawl to FA status through several peer reviews and two FACs. -- Comandante {Talk} 03:23, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Long story short: E3 2008 Day 1 has wound down (finally) and after dozens of edits to the articles I'm working on, I felt like I had earned a barnstar for all my effort. Since none was forthcoming and I am above cheating and giving myself one, I thought why not be charitable and give someone else a barnstar? So I did. Right up there. Nice, ain't it? Anyway, I figure you've earned it for going through all this just for this one article, on top of other things. Hopefully this FAC will succeed, because if there's a third one I'll just add my support for no other reason than I think the article should have been FA months ago, and is better shape than various other articles; simply put, out of spite for the system.

But I digress, this is my good deed for the day. Good luck on the FAC! -- Comandante {Talk} 03:23, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

In retrospect I made a whole lot of edits over the past two days, but nothing special/truly barnstar worthy. Occasionally I just vent my frustrations into more positive things (about time I did, I'm running out of spackle for my wall...) like this. I honestly don't know if I would have been able to endure the rigors of two FACs, so you're a league ahead of me there. -- Comandante {Talk} 03:42, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Doubleplusthanks, and rest assured I take pride in keeping cool and courteous on WP (although I do give out level 3 vandalism warnings to IPs every once in a while. No mercy!). I figure WP just isn't something people should go berserk about; it's not like an article has a direct impact on your life, so why get tangled up in the unpleasantries? At the same time, anonymity on WP is no reason to neglect manners either. Again, thanks. -- Comandante {Talk} 04:08, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Re: HGN deadlinks

Thanks for the update: I've gotten all but the edge one via Archive.org... unfortunately it doesn't appear to be archived (yet) so I'll see what else to do with it. I also see a couple in the other Halo articles, I'll make sure I've taken care of those as well. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 23:27, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

It's why I'm here! :P By the by, I found google had the Edge interview cached (it dropped off the radar sometime after March 10, so the wayback archive won't be around until the fall.) Do you know if google caches are permanent? Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 23:34, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Ok thanks, I will. By the way, love the IAR banner (then again, I love all source of image hacks and funs....) oh, and congrats on SSBB. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 23:37, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Bugger. It doesn't look like you can archive google's cache (gives an error). Oh well, if all else fails I can just transfer it to {{cite news}}... Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 23:44, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Because "Shiny Globe" also isn't the right name for this section heading, though this name isn't any better...

Firstly, congrats on getting SSBB to FA standard! Any idea on when it gets its place on the Main Page? And yeah it is good experience in judging FACs and GANs etc. I actually have my eye on an article that I reckon I can get up to GA standard if I get off my lazy ass. Some time this summer I'll actually do it, but deleting vandalism and posting on Talk pages is so much easier! Oh and as for joining Wikipedia:WikiProject Nintendo/WikiForce SmashBros, I don't know about that. I don't really know enough about the series to join, and it seems in pretty good hands already, judging by the FTC. Still, I can keep an eye on them, and be involved in discussions about them, like the current ones. Incidentally, I'm curious about two unrelated questions: how many pages does a user typically have on their watchlist, and any ideas when abouts you first started improving the SSB articles (just coz I'm interested to know how an article like those have improved up to getting FA status)? Thanks if you can answer those questions, and keep up the hard work! Deamon138 (talk) 23:52, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

The turtle had the land on its back, with the skies ruled by something else, and the water by another. I have the text, I just haven't read it in a while. Rau's Speak Page 05:27, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
By publication you mean, the story itself; or something stating the connection? Rau's Speak Page 05:33, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
Yea, I'll work on it a bit. Sorry about not getting o the reception, but it seems I left not long before you did. I like Sozin's Comet: The Final Battle more. It was the title Nick used to promote the four together, and as the article is about the four... Rau's Speak Page 20:04, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
Well, it does reasonably cover the subject. Uses almost exclusively third-party sources. Could use a bit of tweaking, but nothings perfect. I'd say go for it. Rau's Speak Page 20:09, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

RE:Image

Yes, but in scattered disc the editors and I decided that it wasn't helpful, so we removed it from the article. --Meldshal (§peak to me) 13:28, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Usercreate

I know, I was so happy. He irritated the hell out of me. He seemed to undo any edit I made, simply because I made it... I already went in and re-added my good edits when he was banned. Rau's Speak Page 01:04, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Yea, Wikipedia is just better off without some editors. And as for the vandalism, I'll help when I can. But they won't get semi again. Rau's Speak Page 01:29, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Its not severe. There have only been a few incidents. No where near as bad as it was. I mean, if it passes Hurah, but if not, it won't be that hard to maintain. Rau's Speak Page 01:34, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Hahahah, I know what you mean. That's why I stopped. I was having a personal LOST marathon. But, yea, I kept up with it for months, I can make it through this. Rau's Speak Page 06:18, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
