The titles of publications are always italicized. It's normal practice. See WP:MOSTITLE#Major works. See also Template:Ateneo de Manila University. –H T D 12:24, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

Thanks! Anyway, some bot or user edited the Colleges article and removed all the seals of the colleges. I patterned the article from Oxford, Cambridge, and Durham University articles which have all the college logos in one page. Obviously, I missed something, but what? I've seen the link that the user gave me for explanation. I understand in a way why he had to do it. Could you help me do something about it? Thank you again! 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup

Hello.

I noticed that all standings tables report goal difference. However, FIBA uses goal average in order to rank teams after ties (as stated in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_FIBA_Basketball_World_Cup#Preliminary_round). I tried to test out the "Bs cl2 header navbar" template, in order to incorporate the goal average, but it seems like I am way too newbie to successfully do that.

My question is thus: does a template that incorporates a working version of goal average exists and if so, will you endorse its usage?

Goal average is only used in case of three-way (or more) ties. Overall goal average is only used when all tiebreakers have been exhausted. We'd be using goal averages for the tie column if it comes to that. –H T D 17:05, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

Luzon map image in Luzon article

Hi Howard,

This edit to the Luzon article came up on my watchlist. One thing that did was to restore a {{cleanup}} hatnote which complained, "Jumps between island and island group. (February 2014)". Scrolling down, I saw File:Luzon_regions.PNG, and I got the point.

I see that you uploaded that image, so I thought to ask you about updating it. I don't do much image editing, but I could take a whack at it if you don't want to. I'm thinking that these things need to be done:

The MIMAROPA region ought to be removed from the Luzon regions map. If the MIMAROPA region is somehow associated with Luzon island, the details of that association ought to be clarified in the Luzon article and in other articles (e.g., the Mimaropa and Regions of the Philippines articles)
The color for the Central Luzon region ought to be changed so as not to make Laguna de Bay and Lake Taal seem to be part of that region, and Palawan Island probably ought to be shown on the Luzon regions map.
A separate File:Luzon_island.PNG image ought to be made which eliminates the bits of the image which are not on Luzon island itself.
After the Luzon island map image is available, the Luzon article ought to be changed to use that image instead of the Luzon regions image.

What do you think? Could you put this on your to-do list? If not, do you mind my taking a crack at it?

There are several definitions of "Luzon". The two mostly in use are the "island" and the "island group". The former is the "geographical" definition while the latter is the "political" one. The geographical definition refers to the Luzon mainland; the political definition is the part of the Philippines within Regions I to V, NCR and CAR. Think of the analogy between Great Britain#Political definition and the Orkneys, Shetlands and the Isle of Wight.

I haven't checked the MIMAROPA article, but the Regions of the Philippines includes that region within Luzon.
The map has the geographical (red shade) and the political definition (red+maroon shades). It should be quite apparent that the island shaded red is Luzon island per se.
The lakes are white, which should be a visual cue that it's a body of water and there's no land in there.

At this point you can choose only one. Which is more important? Or we could ditch both in the brackets. The problem with the one you're using is that it's flat out wrong; you used the 4th seed playoff options for the #1 seed, and the 2nd seed playoff for the #3 seed. –H T D 15:13, 22 October 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I do not agree with your last change to this article because, in my opinion, it is not factually correct. Firstly, contrary to your reasoning, separate conferences are not members of USA Basketball, they are associate members of NCAA (you should check that before putting a statement in). Secondly, conferences are not separate championships, there are games played between teams from separate conferences, and there is a final NCAA tournament consisting of best teams picked from various conferences. Therefore, all these conferences belong to a single system of competition and it should be shown as such in the table (otherwise we should separate East and West Conferences of NBA, right?). Thirdly, there were 8 NCAA players in the world championships, somehow you put 9 players in. Based on these arguments, I am considering reverting your changes. The difference between NBA conferences and "NCAA" conferences is that the latter have legal personality. Even without the NCAA they could hold championships, as in what's happening in college football. You could consider the NCAA tournament as the American college version of the Euroleague, and its college tournaments as the national leagues.

Also, they could be members of USAB while being NCAA "members". USAB supplies the referees in these games they can't get those if they aren't members. –H T D 11:43, 6 November 2014 (UTC)

Again, you make an incorrect statement. USAB do not supply any referees as NCAA referees work as independent contractors, but in this case it is not even relevant as we talk about 'players per league', not 'referees per league'. Also, you say conferences 'could be' members of USAB, but as a matter of fact they 'are not', they are members of NCAA, so it is an irrelevant argument too. Talking about 'national federations', in terms of basketball conferences, their 'national federation' is NCAA as it is NCAA which regulates and sanctions the rules at the collegiate level, USAB is not connected in any way to it. Also, I think representing NCAA players as a single line is better in terms of encyclopedia's informational purpose. However, I can agree that conferences have legal separation, so my suggested compromise is as follows - players could be listed as per separate conference, but the 'federation' should be noted as NCAA as it is the one which sanctions the rules. My suggested compromise is opposite: have a single line for NCAA players, with USA Basketball as the "federation". You're very much mistaken that the NCAA is "not connected" to USA Basketball; the NCAA is one of the founders of USA Basketball, and the NCAA even has someone in the FIBA rules committee. They're the ones who made up that possession arrow rule in lieu of jump balls that FIBA now uses. –H T D 14:09, 7 November 2014 (UTC)

Hi Howard, there is some confusion in my mind. If according to the Philippines national football team match statistics, Philippines first biggest defeat is 15-1 to Malaya, while the second is 15-0 to Japan.
