Speedy deletion of PhD1 SoA1 References

A tag has been placed on PhD1 SoA1 References requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your user page, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's user page guideline. After you look over that guideline, could we discuss that concern here? I'd appreciate hearing your views, such as your reasons for wanting this particular page and any alternatives you might accept.

There are several options available for resolving this matter:

• If you can relieve my concerns through discussing it here, I can stop worrying about it.
• If you decide to delete the page yourself, please add {{Db-userreq}} to the top of the page in question and an administrator will delete it.
• If the two of us can't agree on what needs to be done, we can ask for help through Wikipedia's user pages for discussion, which may result in the page in question being deleted.

Your user pages

This is further to the message from User:Tikiwont just above. Wikipedia is a collaborative effort to build an encyclopedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute, and user pages are available for users to provide some information about themselves and for work they are doing on articles; but Wikipedia is not a web-hosting service for work unrelated to the encyclopedia. Your user pages seem to be used only for drafts of your PhD thesis and associated work. Even when complete, this would not be material for a Wikipedia article, since we do not publish original research.

With regret I must tell you that these user subpages are not appropriate for Wikipedia: there are many web-sites that would be happy to host your PhD thesis drafts, but Wikipedia is not one of them. I propose to nominate them all for deletion. As I see that you do not edit very often, I will wait for a month, in order to give you time to see this message and to arrange to take copies of them (to do that, click "edit this page", then "select all" and "copy", and paste into any word-processor).

• Hi. Further to my message above: I see that two of your user sub-pages have been deleted, and you may have thought that would delete all the others, but in fact the other 17 remain, and I have now nominated them for deletion. You may give your views at the deletion discussion. There is no problem with your user page, and I have not proposed that for deletion. Any contributions you may like to make to the encyclopedia will be welcome.
