License tagging for Image:Capitalistpiglet-sheaf.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Capitalistpiglet-sheaf.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 11:05, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Please integrate "controversies" into main articles. Mak (talk) 18:24, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Marion M. Graham Collegiate, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Steve (Slf67) talk 09:37, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Marion Graham -2.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Marion Graham -2.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 07:41, 22 January 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 07:41, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits to Jiverly Voong[edit]

Dear user, hi. If you want to make any changes to article Jiverly Voong please discuss it in discussion page first and do not make any changes to the redirect page. Your recent edits were reverted. Thank you Parvazbato59 (talk) 22:01, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Voong is not notable in his own right per WP:ONEEVENT. Please stop reverting redirects put in place by myself and other users. --candlewicke 22:03, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you continute reverting, you will be blocked! Please stop reverting the redirects! Parvazbato59 (talk) 22:05, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, please stop. You've done it enough. --candlewicke 22:07, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • There are several things that you should know:
  1. No matter how badly you want an article to be published or created, you can't just revert and go into edit warring! You can't prove that you are right by just clicking on "undo" and think that you are proving your argument! Instead, you need to discuss and talk and that is why we have discussion pages so that you can give your opinion.
  2. For an article to be published there are many criterias. It has to be notable, need to have primary, secondary references and, you need to pay attention to WP:ONEEVENT as well.
  3. The text that you added, was qualified for speedy delete and one could easily delete your article. So please be patient and make sure the article that you want to create, has the many criteria.

Kind regards Parvazbato59 (talk) 22:32, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The above image has been nominated for deletion. Please participate in the debate at Commons:Commons:Deletion requests/File:Ray & Minister of ND.jpg. --Simon Speed (talk) 10:56, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Aboriginal Based Organized Crime, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.cisc.gc.ca/annual_reports/annual_report_2004/aboriginal_2004_e.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 01:18, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Aboriginal Based Organized Crime requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.  IShadowed  ✰  01:23, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Continuing copyright concerns[edit]

Hello. I'm afraid that content cannot be imported to Wikipedia from [1], either, as I'm afraid that their license is incompatible for that purpose. See compatibility chart in the copyright FAQ. We can only import material that is licensed compatibly with CC-By-SA, which also eliminates works of the Canadian government, who retain copyright of crown material for 50 years following publication (see section 12, [2].) This article must be written completely in your own words, except that you may incorporate brief quotes from reliable source in accordance with WP:NFC. These quotes must be clearly marked, by quotation marks or block quotation. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 21:11, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Vico1.jpg listed for discussion[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Vico1.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for discussion. Please see the discussion to see why it has been listed (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry). Feel free to add your opinion on the matter below the nomination. The file File:Capitalistpiglet-sheaf.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused, unclear use/purpose

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
