I read your input in the modeling section, interesting but i think you have never worked in this industry. Some notions are not updated and rely on an american point of view only. The concept of good reputation for an agency does not apply. Agency can be efficient and not reliable or good reputation. scandals have arisen and evry year new happen which gives to this notion a very unclear and too subjective dimension. Agencies are a fast movingmarket, the star from the past have faded when new ones have boomed. Specially in Italy, London and Paris. so let the door open to new comers which make the trend more than historical agencies. or create a historic agencies list or objectovely rank them via their billings. the association of designers does exist in france or italy or greece but they never publish any list of agencies reputable nor the organizers of fashion week. And as far as i know, having been in this business for 15 years in all major markets, there has never been in NY too. The only thing which does exist objectively is the list of model agencies participating to a national federation. it is not a guarantee but a clue. i would agree in this as being a necessary characteristics but still some big agencies decided not to particpate to local federation - so ... well let people contribute ! it s afree encyclopedia ope to the eveolutions of the world not an history book looking back to the past .... except that i saw your contributions , mostly a great job ! thank you best regards Lawrence Welcome!

    • You are correct, I have not worked directly in the industry if working directly means booking a model for a gig or entering into a contract with a designer, company or publication. However, I believed that my 7 years operating a modeling website where I get to contact, interview and do research with some of the industry's top agents and owners make me familiar and privy to what is going on. Being outside the industry provided me with a more objective point of view, hence I believed that I am not biased when it comes to editing contents.
    • If adding a new agency to the list is your main concern, then I have no problem with that, coz that agency may someday become one of the best. I only have one concern, coz the term we use now is 'top modeling agencies', so I'll just edit this to include some other agencies which I knew to have done some headways in terms of generating jobs for their models.

Linking to copyvio sites[edit]

When adding links to material on external sites, as you did to Ryo Nishikido, please ensure that the external site is not violating the creator's copyright. Linking to websites that display copyrighted works is acceptable as long as the website's operator has created or licensed the work. Knowingly directing others to a site that violates copyright may be considered contributory infringement. This is particularly relevant when linking to sites such as YouTube, where due care should be taken to avoid linking to material that violates its creator's copyright. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you believe the linked site is not violating copyright with respect to the material, then you should do one of the following:

  • If the linked site is the copyright holder, leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page;

The links I included/added to the actors are MY OWN COMPOSITION. I wrote them myself, which took me a lot of time to research. They are original materials, unlike many of the links which are ALSO included in the pages of these actors, which are more or less quoted from other sources.

I will no longer contribute since someone like you who is similar or is already a religious zealot trying to clean up articles when in fact making them less informative. I have been a contributor of wikipedia for many years, many of the articles are based on ACTUAL WORKING EXPERIENCE.

I resent your actions. You can ban me from wiki for all I care. PUTANG INA MO.

Proposed blackout in protest of RA 10175[edit]

Dear Modelwatcher,

Greetings!

As a Filipino Wikipedian, I hope you are aware of the passage of Republic Act No. 10175, also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, which was signed into law by President Benigno Aquino III on September 12, 2012. Currently, there is a discussion on the Tambayan, the noticeboard for Philippines-related topics, about a proposed blackout of the English Wikipedia in the Philippines in order to protest the passage of RA 10175, similar to the blackout against SOPA and PIPA held earlier this year. I feel that your input on the subject will definitely help in the discussion.

Please feel free to participate in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Tambayan Philippines#The Cybercrime Prevention Act, and I hope your input will help the Filipino Wikipedia community determine which is the best course of action against this law. 2019 US Banknote Contest[edit]

US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.
