Welcome!

Hello, Mynamismik, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Poor Boyz Productions, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 02:01, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Poor Boyz Productions, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 02:01, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why Was My Article Deleted?[edit]

That's the question you are probably asking yourself right now. Well, there are a couple reasons your article could have been deleted.

  1. It may not have met the General notability guideline. This is the guideline that all articles must meet before they can be included on Wikipedia.
  2. It may not have been notable. If a subject isn't notable, it isn't included. Your little brother's garage rock band with 5 fans isn't notable, but Metallica...that's notable.
  3. It may not have been Verifiable. If an article doesn't have several third-party reliable sources, it can be deleted as original research.
  4. It may have been advertising. Any page about a company of any sort must meet strict guidelines so it isn't considered advertisting. A page about the local quickie-mart is probably advertising and also probably not notable.

Please read WP:FIRST, which is about creating your first article. Then get all the information you can on the subject. Create the article first in userspace (on a subpage of your userpage) so it won't get deleted before you are finished. Add all the information, references, reliable sources and more to the page. Make sure it meets the General notability guideline. If you aren't sure, ask an admin, they will be glad to help. Then move it to where you want it in mainspace (on the Wikipedia). From there, keep it updated with pertinent updated information, so the article doesn't become stale. When in doubt with anything, ask the Help desk or an admin. Hope this helps...NeutralhomerTalk • 21:09, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Warning

Please do not make personal attacks. Wikipedia has a strict policy against personal attacks. Attack pages and images are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images, especially those in violation of our biographies of living persons policy, will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you. This is your last warning. You will be blocked from editing the next time you vandalize a page, as you did with this edit to Mark Abma. Amog | Talkcontribs 21:33, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not attack other editors, as you did here: User talk:Acroterion. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:35, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning; the next time you remove or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia, as you did at Bryan ho, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Elen of the Roads (talk) 22:00, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If an article has a speedy deletion tag put on it, an admin (like me) will come along and delete it. You shouldn't blank the article content. Thanks Elen of the Roads (talk) 22:09, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you must sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 01:17, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sandbox[edit]

You'll need to write the article to immediately explain what the company does and why it is significant, without using words like "monumental" (unless you're referring to the Washington Monument). Dates, accomplishments (neutrally worded), coverage in major press of national standing, and context. Assume nobody's ever heard of the company - I haven't, for example. You have to explain to me/them, clearly and concisely, in a professional and formal manner, what it is and what it does and how it's received notice from major press - not just specialty media. The company's involved with skiing video or something ("capturing the imagery" is fluff - say what it is they do and don't beat around the bush), but I can't really tell - there's no context to help. Who, what, when, where, why. Encyclopedia stuff, not press release stuff, formally worded.

Bear in mind that at the end, the company may still not meet the notability standard, but try for major media like big-city newspapers and so forth if there's coverage there - it's better than specialty publications. Acroterion (talk) 02:36, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Kraft Hockeyville[edit]

The changes you made to the Kraft Hockeyville page were unnecessary, hence my revision. - NeutralhomerTalk • 23:19, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually Acroterion‎ has been very patient and accomedating to you, more than he needed. Me, I cleaned up two edits that were unnecessary. Nothing we have done is harrassment. Oh and care to explain this little edit? That was no correction, was it? - NeutralhomerTalk • 01:27, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

im sorry but i dont understand what you are trying to show me, care to explain? Mynamismik (talk) 02:52, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You essentially vandalized your own edit. That bothers me and I trying to understand why that was done. - NeutralhomerTalk • 08:09, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

it bothers you? sounds like you need a life chum. Mynamismik (talk) 20:20, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your continued flippant attitude and waltzing around the question show me you did vandalize the page. Consider this a final warning, vandalism of any kind will not be tolerated, will be reverted and will be reported if it continues. Stop now. Also, you can drop the attitude, people are being very patient with you, more than we need to. You are doing yourself a disservice by going on with the 'tude. - NeutralhomerTalk • 22:14, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

i apoligize, i didnt realize revising a spelling mistake of my own is concidered vandalism, buddy Mynamismik (talk) 22:27, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Correcting a spelling mistake is not vandalism, but intentionally misspelling words as you did is a vandalism. - NeutralhomerTalk • 22:56, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Are you kidding me? Mynamismik (talk);

Patience[edit]

Please check WIkipedia's policies on external links. In general, external links should be confined to sites that add an encyclopedic context to the subject. External links such as the one you added can be briefly summarized and the link used as a reference citation. Acroterion (talk) 01:39, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

what do you mean by patience? may i summarize the article and add the link as a citation? it seems everything i do is deleted by you so from now on i'll check with you first. Mynamismik (talk) 03:03, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I started out with a different theme and changed my mind. NH has a number of virtues as an editor, but patience isn't one of them. Wikipedia has a mountain of policies and the learning curve is steep and not very new-user-friendly. It's a balance between keeping up and improving quality and bringing new editors along. Not very easy. Acroterion (talk) 03:29, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

ive edited kraft hockeyville, and in my opinion improved the article. please reveiw the changes to verify that ive followed wikipedia protocol. Mynamismik (talk);

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Wikipedia Nerd Bias, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Footwarrior (talk) 23:08, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Dear MuZemike, i feel that the block was unfair, my contributions to 'list of ice hockey terminology' was not vandalism, but rather an edit war between neutralhomer and myself. my contribution may be considered controversal, but nonetheless it was in fact an attempt to contribute.

Decline reason:

Please re-submit when/if you can explain the productivity of the edits outlined below. - Vianello (Talk) 04:13, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Please explain the following edits (click to view): 1 2 3 4 5 6. Why were those edits made? - NeutralhomerTalk • 04:06, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Don't be afraid to edit – anyone can edit almost every page, and we are encouraged to be bold! Find something that can be improved and make it better—for example, spelling, grammar, rewriting for readability, adding content, or removing non-constructive edits. If you wish to add new facts, please try to provide references so they may be verified, or suggest them on the article's discussion page. Changes to controversial topics and Wikipedia's main pages should usually be discussed first.
Remember – you can't break Wikipedia; all edits can be reversed, fixed or improved later. Wikipedia is allowed to be imperfect. So go ahead, edit an article and help make Wikipedia the best information source on the Internet!" Mynamismik (talk)
Going to need an answer that isn't copied from Wikipedia. A direct answer from you. Why did you make those changes? - NeutralhomerTalk • 04:26, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

the following edits (click to view): 12 3 4 5 6 were retaliation for the way in which you have treated me in the last few days. Mynamismik (talk)

You did say your editing was intended to be contributory. So please explain what this contributed, if this is the case. You've only mentioned your edits to 'ice hockey terminology', which is not even mentioned in any of the above warnings you received. - Vianello (Talk) 04:29, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The additions to the hockey terminology article were copied verbatim from here. Aside from being nonsense, it was also probably a copyright violation (such as copyright would exist on a page such as that). The material was completely inappropriate on several fronts. Resolute 04:33, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Neutralhomer had mentioned that article earlier, being a good ol hockey lad myself i am permited to do as i please with those terms without breach of copyright. i felt that the page 'ice hockey terminology' was lacking the majority of terms used in and around hockey. Keeper crunk lads Mynamismik (talk)

So blatantly vandalizing Neutralhomer's user page here and here, not to mention this blatant vandalism here and this taunting here as well as here are not at all disruptive? Be fortunate that you were not indefinitely blocked. Rest assured, the next time any of us sees that crap I linked above, you will be. –MuZemike 07:04, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Top_Jim&diff=prev&oldid=396025578 was not taunting. get your facts straight kid. Mynamismik (talk)

Dude is side-stepping the question, obviously. Another reason the dude doesn't need to be unblocked. He isn't willing to discuss why he was blocked. - NeutralhomerTalk • 20:09, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that bud, im kidding eh Mynamismik (talk)

holy dude man! i told you the following edits (click to view): [1]2 3 4 5 6were retaliation for the way in which you have treated me in the last few days. Mynamismik (talk)

That is an indef-blockable offense, you do realize that? - NeutralhomerTalk • 20:18, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Being a "good ol hockey lad", you should know that retaliation always lands you in the penalty box. Whatever you may wish to believe, your actions are not justifiable, and if repeated will end in an indefinite block. Also, as per your comment above, copying material verbatim from anywhere is almost always a copyright violation, and must be reverted. And to be perfectly blunt, that article is not the place to dump random nonsense that juvenile hockey players invented one day. Resolute 20:22, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If anything like this happens again I'll block you indefinitely myself. You're wasting half-a-dozen editors' time. You've been given several chances and a lot of advice. To borrow from another sport, the count is two strikes. Acroterion (talk) 20:53, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

i thought we were buds Acroterion, now your turning on me! Mynamismik (talk)

This stops, the more so because you've been wasting my time and good faith. Acroterion (talk) 21:01, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

your gonna disown me?! come on chum! Mynamismik (talk)

He isn't "disowning" you or "turning" on you, he is, to use a term you used, giving constuctive criticism as an admin. Your behavior needs to change and change quickly. You are dangerously close to an indef-block. - NeutralhomerTalk • 21:23, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

i understand that bud, i was kidding. get over it Mynamismik (talk)

There is no "getting over it" and retaliating isn't "kidding", so what happens next is up to the admins. You screwed up dude and doing damage control isn't going to get you out of this one. - NeutralhomerTalk • 22:14, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

im sorry if your so hurt that you'll never get over it. i was kidding about that guy disowning me so keeper calm there bud. and please, stop saying dude to try and compensate for the fact that you live in your mothers basement with twelve cats, writing wikipedia articles about radio stations. wow, what a life eh bud.
