I cannot unblock you at the present time. You most certainly have not cited your changes and you have most certainly not explained the rationale for your edits in edit summaries. You should set your preferences so that you cannot save an edit w/o and edit summary. That way you will not forget. Hi @GiantSnowman:, I'm quite concerned about this block and the edits by this user that you've reverted. All the reverts that I've come across on my watchlist are for stats updates that appear to have been properly implemented; the dates in the infoboxes and career stats tables have all been updated and the figures appear to be in line with sources. If the block has been made on the basis of these edits, I believe it is wrongful. Thanks, Mattythewhite (talk) 17:17, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Using one sample edit: Special:Diff/860039701, the table and timestamp were updated, but the edit summary was canned one. I would recommanded ReaperSox leaving something in the edit summary such as "update, using [soccerway or whatever the name of the database]". Matthew_hk tc 17:45, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Mattythewhite: it was on the basis of edits like this and this - unsourced changes about BLPs, no edit summary either, and he has been warned/blocked for this before. GiantSnowman 19:20, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, although as the user has received only two warnings since their last block I'd have thought a L4 warning would have been more appropriate. Mattythewhite (talk) 19:30, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Mattythewhite: because this user has been warned - and blocked - before, with no change in editing pattern. What good would a further warning have done? They have had more than enough. GiantSnowman 08:22, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox dates[edit]

Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. Welcome to Wikipedia! I just wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions was not quite right. When updating statistics within the infobox of a footballer, please make sure you update the timestamp at the same time, so that both readers and fellow editors know when the information was last updated.

You can do this by replacing the existing timestamp within the |club-update= or |pcupdate= parameter for club stats, or the |nationalteam-update= or |ntupdate= parameter for international stats, by adding five tildes (~~~~~), which generates the specific time the update was made.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you, Mattythewhite (talk) 00:44, 1 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Career stats table: Bartłomiej Drągowski[edit]

Hi Reaper, I note on the Bartłomiej Drągowski page that you've reverted a few edits on the career stats table back to the code for rowspan, rather than individual rows for each season. I can't find the discussion now but I just wanted to inform you - on the assumption that you were unaware - that concern was raised re: the readability when using rowspan in that particular manner. @Temp: To elaborate on what ReaperSox said: It's consensus among editors of football articles on Wikipedia (WP:FOOTY) not to include appearances other than those in the league in player infoboxes.
Also, please avoid comments such as "Do you have a problem with Milan’s resurgence", they violate assuming good faith, a fundamental principle on Wikipedia and are not helpful when discussing matters of this kind. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 23:06, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The only tally not added are goals scored in friendlies. Goal tally includes Qualifiers, leagues even the Club World Cup. The match against Bodo/Glint was his first official debut. It’s clearly stated. If what you say is correct, then Zlatan, CR7 and Messi should have at least 250 goals removed from their total goal tally. If the qualifiers don’t count, why does the number appearance(1) reflect? Be guided Temp (talk) 10:41, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Temp: Incorrect. We only count domestic league appearances and goals in the infobox. In fact, every footballers' infobox explicitly states this: https://jmp.sh/yG3WrwP
Colombo's only league appearances so far came last season which you can check in the player's career stats table.
For Messi, compare the numbers given in the infobox (485/444) and the total of league appearances and goals in the career stats table. Robby.is.on (talk) 11:30, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
