Policy says we wait until the body has been formally identified before reporting this as a definite death. Thanks. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 14:17, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

I'm just visiting this page, but I would love to be directed towards that "policy", the one about formal identification of bodies. WWGB (talk) 14:20, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
It goes to speculation. Until the body is formally identified, any ID is speculation, even if it is reported in the media. Speculation has no place in Wikipedia. It is always best to wait for official confirmation in these cases even when "everyone knows that..." HtD (talk) 15:32, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

So he's not dead yet?

Thanks for uploading Image:Oxford United Fans.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Oxford United

Hi. I have noticed that you have made some great contributions to the Oxford United articles over the past day, as well as uploading a few related images. Over the next few months i am going to try and get the main Oxford United aricle upto FA standard, the List of managers to featured list, and generally improve the other articles such as Kassam Stadium. I was wondering if yoou would like to collabrate with me on this task. I would realy appreciate the help. Thanks Eddie6705 (talk) 20:50, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Your doing a good job improving the Kassam Stadium. Im going to make all changes to the main article that were suggested in the last FAC (i will keep track in my sandbox) and will put in for another FAC in a few weeks. Then i'll try to get the two list to FL. Eddie6705 (talk) 01:57, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

April 2008

Hi, the recent edit you made to Kassam Stadium has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks. Sorry my bad. I saw you removing the records section and though you where an ip --Chris 07:20, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Jim Smith (footballer)

It isn't necessary for Jim Smith to be added to the category Oxford United F.C. as he is already in the sub-category Oxford United F.C. managers. Although it is occasionally appropriate to add an article to both a category and one of its sub-categories, in this case I don't see it adding any value. --Jameboy (talk) 11:42, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:TerryWoganShow.PNG)

Thanks for uploading Image:TerryWoganShow.PNG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:31, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

List of Oxford United Players

I'm sorry that you put a lot of work into those tables. I can however see your point that it would be easier to see in the tables, so i have reinstated them. Eddie6705 (talk) 14:42, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Little Dreamer

Hi, It's convention to title it Little Dreamer (Beth Rowley album) to distinguish it from other albums, as in Little Dreamer (Peter Green album) or Little Dreamer (Negazione album). You might want to put on of the templates here :Template:Otheruses at the top & provide links to the other albums. If there are several, a new disambiguation page might be better. Let me know if you need any help. Cheers. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 17:12, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Leave it with me & I'll let you know when it's sorted. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 19:33, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Hi, Little Dreamer is the new DAB page (where the above Peter Green link now also goes), and the original page is moved to Little Dreamer (Peter Green album). Easy as that. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 19:47, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Oxford

Hello TwentiethApril1986!

I noticed your request for a peer review for Oxford. I was going to leave a review at that page but thought I'd come direct to you with the WP:UKCITIES project standard. It outlines the recommended layout and content for a "UK-place" class article, and has been used extensively and successfully elsewhere. I hope it helps for Oxford. Give me a shout if you think I can help (I take a great interest in British settlement geography) --Jza84 |  Talk  20:30, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

OK, no problem. I'm not too familliar with the city, but I think I can help with a couple of things. You might want to ask for some support from the guys at WP:UKGEO too? They're a very good team. --Jza84 |  Talk  12:52, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Supergrass

Sorry, no I'm kinda swamped... But please don't add unnecessary flags to articles, it goes against guidelines and increases page load time. A simmple "(UK)" will do most of the time. (I spend much of my time removing things such as flags from infoboxes) Anyway, good luck with the Taskforce! indopug (talk) 19:02, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Oxford Players list

In line with other featured lists i've added the colour key to highlight international appearances etc... There maybe other players with caps that i havent coloured and also players that have made a major contribution but dont have 100 apps can be added. Keep up the great work. Eddie6705 (talk) 21:07, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Also, i've found that Foster is 2008 player of the year, and that Turley won the 2005 award. I think this could be useful to add to the list, althoug hi cant find a source for all winners, could you have a look? Eddie6705 (talk) 19:42, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Naming articles with the same name.

Hi, they need to be disambiguated somehow- this just means making it clear which is which. You could call the articles, say X (Scottish footballer) and X (English footballer), or find some other way to make it clear. Then you need to set up a page to take readers to the right article. I suggest you move the original article to a more specific title using the tab at the top (i.e. Peter X (footballer) -> Peter X (Scottish footballer)) then start the new article as Peter X (English footballer). I have to go out now but I'll be back in an hour or so. Let me know the articles & I'll set up the disambiguation page for you. --Rodhullandemu 14:11, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

  • That makes a lot of sense. Since players move round between clubs, date of birth is probably the most useful distinguisher, and the disambig page will list them all, so a reader will be able to pick the most appropriate. Thanks for pointing that out. --Rodhullandemu 23:11, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Blocked indefinitely. We can live without nonsense like that. --Rodhullandemu 14:58, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Given his threat to start another account, I have watchlisted Joey Beauchamp and, of course, he's now blockable on sight as a block-evading sockpuppet. They never learn, do they? --Rodhullandemu 16:10, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

I Should Coco

You can use that text as long as you don't copy it word for word, and credit it using a reference. A direct lift is a copyright violation, but paraphrasing isn't. Seems like a reliable source to use, so I don't see any problems. Hope that helps. --Rodhullandemu 12:14, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

That looks good to me. For the direct quote in the second paragraph I'd use an inline reference to the page you got it from so that it can be checked. Looks like a good article. --Rodhullandemu 12:54, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Nearly there! One or two language & punctuation issues, but the peer review should sort those out. Strangely my source for UK Chart hits ([1]) doesn't mention this album, but there is a template {{UKChartHits}} for citing chart positions. All you need to do is plug in the number of the artists's page and it links there. But yes, very much nearly there. --Rodhullandemu 20:04, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
It's meant to be used in an inline citation as ... "charted at #43.<ref>{{UKChartHits|251}}</ref>" --Rodhullandemu 20:32, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
