Speedy deletion of Eeedora[edit]

A tag has been placed on Eeedora requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Roleplayer (talk) 20:28, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I know, you're not exactly new here, but that doesn't mean you don't rate a warm welcome. ;) Paradoctor (talk) 16:53, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on RO.B.IN requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. andy (talk) 13:25, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Dodi 8238 (talk) 16:37, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Copy and pasting[edit]

We run "copy and paste" detection software on new edits. One of your edits appear to be infringing on someone else's copyright. See also Wikipedia:Copy-paste. We at Wikipedia usually require paraphrasing. If you own the copyright to this material please follow the directions at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials to grant license. Request reason:

I understand why I was blocked and will not repeat this.

Decline reason:

we often find that people who make requests like this do not, in fact, understand the problem. Please tell us your understanding of why you were blocked, and describe your understanding of copyright policy here. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 21:09, 22 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I understand the copyright laws, and that by copy/pasting texts that are copyrighted Wikipedia could be held responsible and this is why this is not something users should do. In my defence I only edited open source projects that give theirs texts under permissive Creative Commons Licences. I'll name all sources in all future edits and paraphrase them. Thank you.

Decline reason:

You claim that you only edited open source projects that give their text under the Creative Commons licenses. But this is just not true. For example, this edit takes text from here. But that source does not release the text under the Creative Commons license. In fact, that source specifically reserves all rights. I'm also concerned with your plan to paraphrase future contributions. That may not be enough to ensure you are free and clear, according to our policies. Request reason:

Hi admins, I understand reasons for being blocked, and I'll only paraphraze future copyright materials and not copy/paste them directly and potentially harm Wikipedia. I'm huge fan of Wikipedia and I'm sorry for being lazy and using copy/paste instead being a better and thoughtful editor.

Decline reason:

It is equally easy to violate copyright by paraphrasing as it is by word-for-word copying. Your unblock request still fails to show that you understand how copyright works; the fact that you have now posted three appeals that do not demonstrate an understanding of copyright on Wikipedia strongly suggests that you genuinely don't understand it. Request reason:

Hi admins, I understand meaning of copyright, I'm also strong believer in open licenses. I'll only use 3rd party text sources if they are licensed under open and permissive licences, like creative commons licences. I won't paraphrase other texts just to be on the safe side, I'll write all articles in my own words. I understand the importance of keeping Wikipedia clean of any, even the slightest corruption from non-original and copyrighted content. I have been contributor to OpenStreetMap project which also has as strong stance on copyright as Wikipedia does. I have also contributed to number of open source projects, have started my own Linux distribution and started numerous open source and open hardware projects. I'll only edit articled and add my own original content that I create, not take content from other sources. Thanks in advance. Valent (talk) 15:46, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

This looks like a good plan going forward. Bear in mind that if you copy inappropriately in the future, you may not be able to find an admin willing to give you another chance, so be careful. SarekOfVulcan (talk) 18:09, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
