Little context in "Loaded"[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on "Loaded", by Rackabello (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because "Loaded" is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

A note on all these articles you're creating[edit]

Please be sure when you create an article about a song that the quotes are not a part of the page name (the link should look like "Read My Lips (Enough Is Enough)", not "Read My Lips (Enough Is Enough)". I've moved a lot of them to the proper titles, but there seem to be quite a few more. Also, someone is putting prod tags on many of your articles; I removed the few I came across. Good luck with your noble quest! Precious Roy 21:05, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Also, I would recommend spending a little more time on each article as you create it. Linking from the artist's article to the song's article at the very least. And references would be good, too. Someone seems bent on deleting all your work. Cheers! Precious Roy 21:23, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • When there's already an article with the same name you want to use, you have to disambiguate the name. Using Rocks as an example, since that page (logically) redirects to Rock, I used Rocks (song). If there had already been an article for a different song called Rocks, then I would have used Rocks (Primal Scream song). The idea is to add only what's necessary to the title in order to differentiate it from other articles with the same name. You can read all about it at MoS:DAB. "Prod" stands for "proposed deletion". Basically, if someone sees an article that they think should be deleted, they can place a prod tag on the page, along with their reason why. If no one removes the prod tag within 5 days, an admin will delete the article. You can blog a prod simply by removing the template from the page, BUT in the edit summary, it's important that you give a reason why you're removing it. All of the songs of yours that someone had prodded, they claimed that the songs were non-notable. When I removed the tag I noted that the songs were actually bona fide hits, which makes them notable. You can read up on prods at WP:PROD. If you have any other questions about procedure or whatnot, don't hesitate to leave a note on my talk page. Precious Roy 00:51, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
      • It's no bother at all. The # sign is used for making a numbered list, so when it's at the start of a line, it turns it into a number. Two ways around it are 1) wording your sentences so that a # doesn't come at the start of a paragraph or 2) writing it like <nowiki>#</nowiki> (the "nowiki" tags won't show up on the published page). Re: Speedy Taging of Loaded[edit]

Hi there, Loaded wasn't deleted, the reviewing administrator ruled the article met the criteria for inclusion, so you have nothing to worry about. Rackabello 21:44, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

References please...[edit]

Hello there, I saw your edits to a couple of U2 articles re chart positions. Could you please provide references? Remember, according to WP:ATT, any information without references can be deleted. kind regards and happy editing. --Merbabu 02:23, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again. Yeah - it's Discotheque and Staring at the Sun. cheers --Merbabu
OK, thanks for that. My philosophy is that even though there is so much unreferenced material already in the articles, I try and prevent any new unreferenced material. But i will leave it for now. happy editing. --Merbabu 04:13, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Nasty Girl (Inaya Song), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Deflagro Contribs/Talk 00:56, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. One thing you can do to improve it is add in the album it is in and when it was made and that sort of thing. It seems nobody has officially welcomed you so.....

Proposed deletion of Yes (McAlmont and Butler song)[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Yes (McAlmont and Butler song), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

This article contains no information that does not exist in either McAlmont and Butler or The Sound of McAlmont and Butler. Nor is it likely to.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. A tag has been placed on Breaking Down (Sugar Samba) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").
