Congressional slaveholder mini-project
I'll likely propose a project for a project on Congressional slaveholders as something to do for Black History Month based on data recently released by The Washington Post. My early draft of the proposal is at The Signpost newsroom, Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/Next issue/Black History Month

2022 Elections Task Force
Hi all,
I'm thinking about starting a task force with around 8-10 other editors to work on the Wikipedia pages of candidates up for election in 2022. Many congressional member pages have very few votes or political positions (for example, compare Michelle Steel and Steve Chabot against Nicole Malliotakis), and so I think it would be a great resource for us to flesh out a lot of these pages ahead of the election to better support people who come to Wikipedia for information before they vote. If anyone is interested in joining this project, please add a message below or message me on my talk page. Once I have a couple of interested editors I will work on building a task force page so we can coordinate our work. Thanks!

User script to detect unreliable sources
I have (with the help of others) made a small user script to detect and highlight various links to unreliable sources and predatory journals. Some of you may already be familiar with it, given it is currently the 39th most imported script on Wikipedia. The idea is that it takes something like
- John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14. (
John Smith "[https://www.deprecated.com/article Article of things]" ''Deprecated.com''. Accessed 2020-02-14.)
and turns it into something like
- John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14.
It will work on a variety of links, including those from {{cite web}}, {{cite journal}} and {{doi}}.
The script is mostly based on WP:RSPSOURCES, WP:NPPSG and WP:CITEWATCH and a good dose of common sense. I'm always expanding coverage and tweaking the script's logic, so general feedback and suggestions to expand coverage to other unreliable sources are always welcomed.
Do note that this is not a script to be mindlessly used, and several caveats apply. Details and instructions are available at User:Headbomb/unreliable. Questions, comments and requests can be made at User talk:Headbomb/unreliable.

A duty to inform constituents - NY 3rd District
Following the 2020 census New York State experienced a protracted and deeply partisan legal battle over redistricting to the point that officials had to push back the state primaries.
According to the state Board of Elections, "Following the completion of the 2020 census, New York State has redrawn legislative districts for State Assembly, State Senate, and Congressional offices. New lines will take effect in January 2023. New York State voters will elect representatives for these new districts during the 2022 general election." (New York State Board of Elections, October 22, 2022).
Wikipedia's legitimacy as a source may exceed that of political or governmental entities. This is why I believe that a note should be made to the main heading. A well informed constituency ensures a healthy democracy, therefore, Wikipedia needs to provide accurate and up to date information as it will affect the 3rd districts constituents for the next 2-5 years.

I hope to discuss whether list articles should contain separate tables pointing out various distinctions (still alive, oldest ever, shortest term, highest number of votes, etc).
