However, was it the Kurds being an ethnic group that was contested? I don't think so. Moving the template to the part that's actually considered dubious.

There has been no oppostion to it, and at least it certainly helps to reduce the potential of misinterpretation. And based on a bizzare encounter while editing Sintashta culture on Dec 9, I've learned that the term "Iranic" has a staunch fan-base anyway:)
