DYK entry on G 196-3

Hello, Arctic Night. You have new messages at TitanOne's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

too damn fast (vandalfighting)

keep it up! Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 17:44, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Heh, thanks :) Arctic Night 17:44, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar

The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
Great contributing against vandalism. Keep up the good work! :-) DARTH SIDIOUS 2 (Contact) 18:51, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, thanks! I would give you one (just for those times you've reverted something before I can on Huggle) but... you already have several! Thanks again for the barnstar! Arctic Night 18:53, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well deserved. Good to see you around. Courcelles 18:54, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
...and there I go, disappearing again, promising to come back in December :) Yes - I had some free time today (*procrastination*) so I decided to churn out a few more DYKs and take Huggle for a spin. Arctic Night 18:56, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the semi-protection by the way. Arctic Night 18:58, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm so scared. I blocked and deleted Jimmy's friend's crap. And my real name is David Cameron, for anyone that believes that vandal. ;) It seems like anyone that spends any time on Huggle at all attracts userpage vandalism. May as well close those doors when we can, all it seems to generate is rollbacks and revision deletions! Courcelles 19:13, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you see, politics actually bores me to tears. Just let Lizzie make the decisions, who actually needs a parliament or anything of the sort? Just think how much money we could save on MP's expenses! (For the record, that's not the strangest unblock request I've seen in response to one of my blocks. Though it may be one of the least plausible.) Courcelles 19:35, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If it was Jimbo's friend, I would advise him to get another friend. Friends don't wreck their friends' stuff. Arctic Night 14:22, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Another Barnstar

Oh, thank you so much! While I like any and all barnstars, this one means a lot because I have been doing this for quite a while (that anti-vandalism stuff was regarding things I did in the space of an hour or two). Thanks also for your compliment about my userpage! I must admit that I stole the wikimarkup from someone else (I could never do anything like that myself...) but obviously the images and userboxes were all put there by me. Thanks again! Arctic Night 14:26, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well I think it's cool that there are Wikipedians from all over the world. I am in New York City btw. Have you lived in Nunavut your whole life? --La comadreja formerly AFriedman RESEARCH (talk) 21:08, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kudos from me too, a fellow Canadian :) I think it's really cool that you're from Nunavut.. and apparently only 1 of 2 Wikipedians! -- œ 15:49, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I guess not much of Nunavut is on the 'net - just try to build a decent biography on certain MLAs here and you're in for a challenge :) Arctic Night 03:44, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Richard John Cork

Hi I have responded to the question re Richard John Cork at Template talk:Did you know#Articles created/expanded on November 1 Thanks for taking the time to check. --Jim Sweeney (talk) 15:22, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ten total hooks?

Why a total of ten hooks, at Template:Did you know/Preparation area 3? -- Cirt (talk) 15:56, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, that would be because I am an idiot and didn't notice that I hadn't used the Template:*mp templates that were already there. :P Fixing now. Arctic Night 16:00, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Also, why are you filling up Prep 3, before doing Prep 2? -- Cirt (talk) 15:57, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
For that one I have a much better excuse. It's because I'm an idiot :) Also fixing now. Arctic Night 16:00, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Mmkay, fixed. Arctic Night 16:08, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, and thank you for chipping in and helping out at DYK! ;) Cheers, -- Cirt (talk) 16:14, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome! I spend so much time adding to the backlog of hooks to be added, I thought I might as well spend some time reducing it :) Arctic Night 16:16, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The 50 DYK Creation and Expansion Medal
Excellent work bringing so many good Canadian-topic articles to Wikipedia's Main Page. Your efforts have made the online encyclopedia broader in coverage, aiding readers all over the globe. Binksternet (talk) 22:11, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's raining thanks spam!

Aaahhh, take cover from the thank spam! Arctic Night 03:49, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't get any. :P (not that that's an invitation to light off my orange bar or any such thing!) Courcelles 03:57, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No matter, I have now thanked you for something else :) I hope you feel better now! Arctic Night 04:01, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Georges-Antoine Belcourt

Just to let you know, there appears to already be an article ([[George-Antoine Bellecourt|here) on Belcourt. Its a stub, though, so it can probably be deleted. Regards, wackywace 17:19, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know! I'm redirecting it to the other page now. Arctic Night 17:22, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. Regards, wackywace 18:25, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Clerk note"

I see that you have been adding comments with the "clerk note" template. For example, here you commented on a request for permissions with that template, and here you commented on a request for AWB access. Please note that there is no clerking system in place at both of those locations and such use of the template is inappropriate and may cause others to believe that you have some sort of authority there. If you have any questions, feel free to message me. Netalarmtalk 18:36, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Don't be ridiculous. Anyone with half a brain would easily figure out that that means exactly what it says it does- a non-admin commenting on requests. Courcelles 18:45, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No, it does not mean a non-admin commenting. It means a clerk commenting. Since there are truly clerked places on Wikipedia, it is not appropriate to use such a template when no system is in place. Can we close the discussion here and move the bulk over to my talk (where most of it is taking place)? Netalarmtalk 21:25, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Netalarm, thanks for getting in contact. I was aware that there was no clerking system in place, but just wanted to help reduce the workload there (not that there was much, anyway...) by making some preliminary comments on what was proposed. I couldn't find one of those images that added 'Note' to the post (I've now found it after a bit of searching - it's {{TakeNote}}). Although I have to agree with Courcelles when I say that to be honest, I wouldn't have thought 'Clerk note' implied authority. Although I doubt I'll be back to WP:RFPERM for a while, as I just dropped by to check out how everything worked, if I ever do comment there again, I'll use {{TakeNote}} to reduce any chances of someone getting the right idea. Yeah... long story short, I was acting in good faith, so I wouldn't really call it purposefully "inappropriate" :) Arctic Night 18:51, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Plus... wow, looking back on what I just wrote, I clearly didn't get enough sleep last night... not my best wording :) Arctic Night 18:53, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This template might be useful to you {{Afc comment}}. Best, --Alpha Quadrant talk 14:35, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
