I nominate {{noping|Money emoji}} to be Editor of the Week. He has been on WP for 2 years and has over 10K in mainspace editing. He was recently appointed as an arbcom clerk trainee, and I am confident that he will do a great efficient job. To date, Money emoji has done an impressive amount of work relating to copyright-related matters on Wikipedia, with particularly notable contributions to [[WP:CCI]]. Cases there can remain open for years, and Money emoji has shown commendable effort and has made substantial efforts to reduce this backlog. Every December I ask Editor Primefac to set up the WER/Hall of Fame for the upcoming year. Lickity-split. Within 10 minutes it gets done. Active since 2014. Prime is a very busy editor. He has 142K diverse edits with a 42% in mainspace, 11% in WP back room stuff and 17% on templates. A bureaucrat, oversighter, administrator and OTRS member as well as a member of WP:Frats and Sororities, Astronomy:WP, WP:Physics and WP:Templates. Over the years he has dramatically improved Astronomical spectroscopy and Normani and List of Sinfonians. A fine example of someone doing his best to make WP a better place to visit and to work. ―Buster7  21:58, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I nominate Simeon for the Editor of the Week for their incredible efforts to create new articles on Wikipedia. They have made over 28,000 edits, more than 90% of which are to mainspace. They have created 736 pages in mainspace; with 609 quality stubs, 85 start-class articles, and 3 DYKs. Their dedication to writing and improving BLPs and sports-related topics (which includes dedicated and detailed coverage of the 2019 African Games) is impressive in a way I'm not sure I can fully express with words. I feel honored to nominate WhatamIdoing to be this weeks Editor of the Week. I have visited her page countless times for help and she's never let me down. For years I've been following discussions she has been involved in with our most knowledgeable and experienced editors who work on Wikipedia policies and she again and again has impressed me with her knowledge of our encyclopedia and how to explain it to others, and yet never appear to be offended when disagreements break out, nor does she use harshness when others may disagree. Active since early 2007 WhatamIdoing has amassed 93000 edits over a broad spectrum of WP platforms. Efforts at Leukemia and Cancer, and articles of special importance to women such as Breastfeeding and Breast cancer awareness display a keen interest and participation in Medical topics. She has been very involved with the Village Pump, dealing with policy and proposals and other important decisions. Being a member of WP:MED, and active at External Links, Verifiability, citing sources and notability show how truly diversified her interests are. No one is more deserving than WhatamIdoing to get this badge of appreciation.Gandydancer (talk) 00:29, 26 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I second. ―Buster7  08:18, 26 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am nominating Fredericknoronha for his efforts raising the profile of the Indian state of Goa in Wikipedia, and raising the profile of Wikipedia in the Indian state of Goa.

This user has made 3,570 edits to English Wikipedia and created 277 articles. Many of his articles are stub- or start-class, but it's important to recognise that it's often harder to gather sources and establish notability in India than in countries with greater internet penetration, and we should celebrate people doing the tricky work of giving due representation to Indian places (such as Shirgao, Goa, Surathkal railway station and International Centre, Goa), people (such as Lancelot Ribeiro, Jayanti Naik, and Isidore Dantas), and culture (such as Goan literature and Goa Arts and Literature Festival). Some of his most substantial articles (such as History of the book in Brazil, Portuguese presence in Asia, Portuguese discovery of the sea route to India, and Churches and convents of Goa) are translations from Portuguese, and we should likewise celebrate work of this kind for mediating knowledge into English and back out into other languages.

About a year ago, Fredericknoronha created Wikipedians of Goa User Group, thus moving his efforts beyond editing of his own towards promoting Wikipedia-editing to the wider community in India. He has also been active in Wikimedia Commons and in Konkani Wikipedia. Alarichall (talk) 12:02, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I nominate PKT for the Editor of the Week. They registered their account 13 years ago, and have made more than 185,000 edits since then. PKT is a self-described wikignome, and I've often come across them making small, but much-appreciated edits. PKT often edits articles about Canada and Canadians, and their breadth of contributions is vast and noteworthy. They often access the quality of new articles included as part of WikiProject Canada. They have also made extentsive contributions to articles about Canadian cities like Windsor, Ontario, Newmarket, Ontario, Markham, Ontario, Barrie, Aurora, Ontario, Georgetown, Ontario, Thornhill, Ontario, Whitby, Ontario, Owen Sound, Milton, Ontario, Cambridge, Ontario, etc. The list goes on and on and on. In addition to all of that, they've also made extensive contributions to sports coverage of Canada. In conclusion, I think that PKT is more than deserving of the Editor of the Week Award. Hear, hear! Strongly concur in this nomination! Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 04:33, 7 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I nominate JezGrove for the Editor of the Week Award. JezGrove has made over 10,000 edits, but it is the quality of their contributions that shines through, not just the numerical value itself. More than 4,800 of their edits are over 1,000 bytes, and their contributions to mainspace are absolutely phenomenal. They have created 35 articles, some of my personal favourites of articles they've worked on being Let Toys Be Toys, Women of the Year Lunch and Emma Sophia Galton. JezGrove has also made substantial contributions that improve the quality of prexisting articles, including articles like Buglife, Life in Squares, and The Lego Group. What I have chosen reflects just a handful of their vast contributions to the encyclopedia. Their work is amazing, and I believe that they should be recognized through the Editor of the Week Award. I nominate Indignant Flamingo to be Editor of the Week for this user's outstanding contributions in WikiProject Japan. This user writes biographies of women who have received an Akutagawa Prize, Naoki Prize, or MacArthur Fellowship, and tirelessly translates material from Japanese to English for our readers. I stumbled across one of his recently-created articles, Akane Takada, which was featured on the main page at Did You Know. Yet one of his best works is Snakes and Earrings, a novel about a Japanese women interested in body modification. This user has been editing Wikipedia since June 2018 and has shown high-quality work. With over 50 articles created since he started (including 7 DYKs and a GA), I have no doubt that we will see more from him in 2020 and the years to come! MX () 20:06, 30 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I nominate Frietjes to be Editor of the Week for their persistent work implementing the huge Fb cl TfD. She has worked tirelessly on this project for a whole year replacing tens of thousands of uses with Module:Sports table without much recognition. In their time here they have also accumulated 750 thousand edits putting them in the top 20 highest edit counts of all time. To recognize these contributions I believe they should be awarded Editor of the Week the week after they finish replacing all transclusions of Template:fb cl header (not linked since they are 100% monitoring those links) of which there are only 1500 as of writing this. ‑‑Trialpears (talk) 14:15, 16 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to nominate Ebyabe for Editor of the Week. A long-term contributor who has been around since 2006, he has since amassed nearly 200,000 edits and uploaded an impressive 20,000+ images. Much of his work focuses on improving or expanding coverage of National Register of Historic Places articles (in fact, he started Wikipedia:WikiProject National Register of Historic Places), in particular those in Florida, having created 2000+ articles. He still manages to find time to also keep articles free from vandalism and BLP violations, and couldn't be more pleasant to work with. Despite what can sometimes seem like thankless work, he's never asked for thanks or awards; amazingly, he takes time to show his thanks and appreciation toward other editors. It is for these reasons I believe he deserves this recognition. Sro23 (talk) 06:31, 18 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I gladly second this nomination. Sro23 sums things quite nicely and I can only add that Ebyaby deserves recognition for all his efforts. MarnetteD|Talk 10:05, 18 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
