Ishqbaaaz (English: Lovers) is an Indian drama television series which is broadcast on Star Plus. It premiered on 27 June 2016 and airs Mon-Fri 10-11pm IST.Nakuul Mehta, Kunal Jaisingh and Leenesh Mattoo respectively portray Shivaay, Omkara and Rudra, the three heirs of the Oberoi family.[1][2][3][4][5] The show initially focused on the tale of three brothers, later become centered on the love story of Shivaay and Annika (Surbhi Chandna); with the story of Omkara and Rudra being shifted to the spinoff series Dil Boley Oberoi.[6][7] In July 2017 Dil Boley Oberoi ended and the storylines were merged back into Ishqbaaaz which doubled its runtime.[8]

Plot

The story is about the lives of a rich business family in Mumbai, the Oberoi family who face difficult and challenging situations from time to time.

Kalyani Oberoi(Daadi) is the matriarch of the family who resides in Oberoi mansion with her sons, daughter-in-laws and grandchildren.

Tej, the elder son, is married to Jhanvi and has three children, Omkara Rudra and Priyanka. Tej has an affair with his secretary, Svetlana which caused Jhanvi to drink. Omkara is a sculptor and self made billionnaire and has a history of drug use. Omkara hates his father. Rudra is a flirtatious guy and a playboy who is a fitness freak. Priyanka whom everyone calls "Prinku" gets nervous easily.

Shakti, Tej's younger brother, is married to Pinky. They have one son, Shivaay, who is the eldest son and the face of the Oberoi's industry. Shivaay is a business tycoon with a strict personality that matches his uncle, Tej. He is arrogant, snobbish and judges people on the basis of their lineage and social status, rather than their personality or work. He got engaged to Tia because of her high class and status but does not believe in love.

Both,Tej and Pinky, want their respective sons to inherit the business and thus end up fighting each other. Even after everything the three cousins share an unusually strong bond with each other.

Shivaay comes across a middle-class girl, Anika, who loves her young adoptive brother Sahil, who needs clutches to walk. Sundari, Sahil's aunt cares only about money.

Shivaay and Anika are always engaged in cat fights because of their differences in opinions and class. Anika is called up by Kalyani(Daadi) to become Shivaay's wedding planner causing them to fight more but save each other too. Anika saves the family from the attacks of Roop, Tej's sister, and Gayatri, Ashok's wife.

Daksh, Shivaay's childhood friend, appears in the story. Daksh proposes Anika three times and on the third time Anika accepts it. Shivaay thinks Anika is a gold digger as Daksh created such scenes. Later, Shivaay forces Anika to marry him as Tia runs away with Dushyant also known as Robin. On the wedding night, Shivaay's and Anika's truth comes out. The following day, Tia returns under the pretext of getting kidnapped. Shivaay presents Tia as his wife in front of the media.

Daksh comes back. He kidnaps Anika but Shivaay manages to save her thus clearing his misunderstandings. Shivaay and Anika come closer but Tia announces her pregnancy. The young Oberois, Shivaay, Omkara, Rudra and Anika, try to prove that the child is not Shivaay's but is unsuccessful as Svetlana and Romi changes the reports twice.

Later, during a fight with Shivaay, Annika falls and suffers a memory loss. But it was all a plan of the young Oberois. Dushyant also known as Robin comes back whom Tia thought was dead. The Kapoor's truth comes out.

Priyanka is set to marry Ranveer, whose sister died during an accident made by Priyanka herself. During a function, Daksh is back with Kamini, Shakti's ex-girlfriend, as Kamini's brother. Shivaay accepts Anika as his wife in front of the media and family. Priyanka becomes a little strong as she breaks her marriage with Ranveer.

Later on, Mahi, Shivaay's twin brother and Kamini's son, comes in their lives. Shivaay is kidnapped meanwhile Mahi wants to steal the luxury of the Oberois. Anika feels something is fishy and sets to find about Shivaay.

Priyanka marries Ranveer and Kamini takes all her luxuries. As Ranveer and Priyanka come closer, Kamini feels insecure and tries a lot to prove Priyanka mad.

Pinky, reveals to Anika that Shivaay is Shakti's and Kamini's illegitimate son and threatens Anika. Anika plans to make Shivaay throw her out while Shivaay was thinking to remarry her. Anika tells Rudra and Omkara about her decision and takes an oath from them. Anika is successful in her plan with the help of Tia.

Three months later

Shivaay has completely changed and has a friend, Ragini Malhotra. Ragini wants Shivaay and goes beyond limits with the help of her brother, Samar. Rudra and Omkara bring Anika back to Oberoi Mansion in order to bring the old Shivaay. Shivaay thinks that Anika has moved on so he decides to become her wedding planner.
