Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. HurricaneEdgar 01:44, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Note: @HurricaneEdgar: Yes, I see some disruptive edits by IPs, but not that much tbh, and the page is well watched to boot. Would you be so kind as to point out the "persistent" vandalism please? Lectonar (talk) 08:03, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Anarchyte (talk) 14:39, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Whitewashing in film

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Frequent unexplained removals of content or insertions of clear vandalism by IP editors. There are very few redeeming edits by non-autoconfirmed users counterbalancing those that cause damage to the page. Page twice previously underwent temporary semi-protection and should now be indefinitely semi-protected. AlexEng(TALK) 08:43, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of 3 days, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Anarchyte (talk) 14:48, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Day of Reconciliation

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Vandalism. wizzito | say hello! 09:53, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Anarchyte (talk) 14:46, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Verve (Indian magazine)

Pending changes for disruptive editing. Not many watchers on the page, an IP editor is persistently attempting to add original research into the article and they are irresponsive to attempts at communication. Tayi Arajakate Talk 10:11, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • The IP version is better than the one you prefer though, correcting errors and bringing things up to date (e.g. removing a name from the team which is not mentioned on the linked source). Fram (talk) 12:38, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Fram, sorry, what? They added a bunch of primary sources which do not directly verify their material. They added that "...remained in print from 1995 to 2020. The magazine, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2015, published its last print edition in June 2020" and provide their instagram page as a citation which not only doesn't support the line anywhere and even has its last post 5 hours ago. If you look at their first edit (Special:Diff/1053098961), this is based on their personal experience. Then there is a notice which states that they aren't taking new subscriptions for the time being, presumably added to support the assertion that the magazine does not publish anymore. The two are not the same thing, this is OR 101. In any case, the notice in the lead isn't encyclopedic content. The removal of the name of the team member can be retrained sure but not the rest, I did not check the last bit, my bad. Tayi Arajakate Talk 13:05, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • Well, they sure haven't printed a new edition since their April-May 2020 magazine[1], so that part seems correct. No new print versions, no new subscriptions... Instead of blindly reverting and trying to get the article protected, it would be better to try to write a compromise version, incorporating undeniable facts (no ne printed issues for 1 1/2 years, no subscriptions for printed issues accepted) and leaving out the interpretation of them: then you can see if the IP accepts this. And with an IP editor without a fixed IP (like here), it is no use trying to contact them on their talk page, they may very well never have seen your message. Try posting to the article talk page instead. Fram (talk) 13:29, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Eh, I should say that this looks like an insistence for "truth" rather than verifiability. They are publishing new pieces on their website and marking it as part of the 2021 issues, so it's not even that clear. Anyways, I have removed the more egregious ORey material and added some templates to the article for now. Tayi Arajakate Talk 14:29, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Most IP requests, new editors are the same requests which are rejected by other users. Knight Skywalker (talk) 13:25, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Straight Outta Nowhere: Scooby-Doo! Meets Courage the Cowardly Dog

Reason: The anonymous user keeps adding the Cartoon Network Studios (despite it not being listed in the credits) without adding any proof it has been involved in the production. I tried to draw his attention on the talk page, but to no avail: he is completely silent and keeps reversing edits. Ромми (talk) 13:55, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Scooby-Doo! The Sword and the Scoob

Reason: Reason is the same as above, but also with "digital eMation" outsourcing studio. Normally the studios that produce the animation abroad don't appear in templates for films, series, etc. (as in Futurama). This is the same user who is silent. Ромми (talk) 13:58, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Berkhamsted School

Reason: Persistent attempts to add a non-notable person to the Notable alumni section of the article. Concerted efforts have been made to add this person for several years, and recently those efforts have been stepped up. Both IP and recently-registered editors are involved. I've no idea whether it is one person socking, or multiple Youtube fans of the person involved. Given the use of registered usernames I'd like to see extended protection, but if that's too much at least semi-protection for a long or indefinite period.
