Biography

Early life

Donald Joseph Klang was born in Brooklyn, New York. He has been involved in entertaining since he was young. Klang started off modeling as a baby and doing television and film work as an adolescent. His love for performing started at the age of 12. He sang in a Pop and R&B group during his years at Island Trees High School in Levittown, New York, before graduating in 2003. Klang then began to pursue music in high school. As a member of a Pop and R&B group, he has had experience singing, dancing, producing and performing around the country. He has produced and written music heard around the East Coast.

From his father's second marriage, Klang gained a step family, including three sisters and many new cousins. He has worked labor jobs for ten hours a day. He attended Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York for a major in business degree and minor in music. Klang decided to take a semester off of college to pursue his music career and went on tour with his group. He stated that he auditioned for American Idol, but was rejected, mainly because he was not the person that the judges were looking for. Not long after he returned to Hofstra University, the chance came for Making the Band, and he again took time off college.

2007-2008: Making the Band 4 and Just a Rolling Stone

In 2007, "Sean "Diddy" Combs" returned with Making the Band 4, this time searching along with Michael Bivins, Bryan-Michael Cox, Slam, Ankh Ra[1] and Laurie Ann Gibson for the next male super group.[2] Klang was a contestant on the show. Diddy let the fans vote for who they wanted in the band. Klang came in first in the voting ballots. While Diddy called out names for the official band, Klang's name was not called to be in the band; he was instead given a solo artist contract, and was chosen to be a singer on Bad Boy. Diddy felt that he showed such persistence throughout the competition, that he had to sign him. Klang was the only person from the show to be offered a solo contract with Bad Boy.

Klang has been in the studio recording his début album, Just A Rolling Stone; it is planned for release on September 2 2008 (as stated on his myspace). The first single, "Take You There", was released through iTunes and on Amazon.com on March 23 2008, following the Making the Band 4 season finale, where Klang performed the song live. He stated that his rival competitor would be Colby O'Donis, fellow R&B/pop singer, signed under Konvict Muzik.
