Template:King of Fighters character Andy Bogard (アンディ・ボガード) is a video game character in both the Fatal Fury and King of Fighters series of fighting games by SNK Playmore.
History
According to his official biography, Andy was born on August 16, 1974. He stands at 5 ft 8 in and weighs 152 lb. His blood type is A. His hobby is practicing martial arts, his favorite food is spaghetti a la natto (fermented soybean), his favorite sport is short track, and his treasured possession is a picture of himself with Hanzo Shiranui. He hates dogs.
Andy practices the Shiranui School of Ninjitsu and a form of empty-handed ninja combat called Koppouken, which he trained in after witnessing his father's murder in order to gain revenge on Geese Howard. Mai Shiranui is his fiancée (in her mind), and the granddaughter of Hanzo Shiranui, the man he learned Ninjitsu from.
During his time in Japan, he met the Muay Thai fighter Joe Higashi, and challenged him to a match. When Andy won, he invited Joe to return to America with him to enter the King of Fighters tournament, held by Geese.
Andy's emotions prevented him from reaching the final round, but when Terry defeated Geese, Andy returned to Japan to continue his training. When the new King of Fighters tournament was announced, Andy joined Terry and Joe in the new 3-on-3 matches.
Moments before Geese's permanent death, Andy tried to off Geese by himself. Geese's power proved to be too much for Andy as he almost fell to his death. Terry saved Andy, who finally acknowledged Terry as the better of the two brothers.
Ever since Geese's death, the fall of the First Southtown, and the birth of Second Southtown, Andy has been busy training Hokutomaru through the ways of the Shiranui school of Ninjutsu and Koppouken. It's unknown whether he will return to The King of Fighters tournaments.
Trivia
- In Fatal Fury 2, Fatal Fury Special, and King of Fighters 94, Andy was voiced by Jun Hashimoto. In Fatal Fury 3 and later games, Andy was voiced by Keiichi Nanba.
- In Real Bout: Fatal Fury Special, an EX version of Andy is selectable, who explains that he is the dark shadow every Shiranui ninja has. Naturally, this leads Mai to wonder whether she has such a dark side.
- Currently, it suggest that training Hokutomaru is his excuse to hide from Mai as the SVC Chaos ending suggests, as many of them seem to be in continuity despite being a crossover.
