Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Jacob Ruppert may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.
- List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

More help with Jim DeMint
Hi Muboshgu. A few months ago you helped me with an update to the Jim DeMint article and I was wondering if you might be willing to look at another request I left on the talk page. I've rewritten the Political positions section, which is marked with a few tags saying the section needs clean up. Again, I'm an employee of The Heritage Foundation, where DeMint is the president, so I don't think I should add the revision myself. If you have a few minutes would you be willing to look at what I wrote? It's on the talk page. Thanks! Thurmant (talk) 17:13, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
- I'll try to give it a look today. – Muboshgu (talk) 14:17, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
DYK for Jeff Hoffman
On 10 September 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Jeff Hoffman, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Jeff Hoffman was named the top prospect in the Cape Cod Baseball League this summer? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Jeff Hoffman. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Reaching out a hand
Hi. I think we have both kind of misunderstood each other. And I think we are both strong minded people. My nom on Anna Lindh was probably "not appropriate" not because of the fact that it is 11 September but because it is apparently not ITN ready really. I will work on it and hopefully it will be OTD ready for 2014 :) I am reaching out a hand here so we do not look like two fighting children:) We do not have to be "Wiki friends" but I feel we do not need to have animosity towards each other either. Talkback me...Regards,--BabbaQ (talk) 19:45, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
- I appreciate the message. This morning was a misunderstanding, which can happen. I get a little sensitive about the "American bias" thing, which can be true at times, but I think it gets overblown. It would've been better if I had not brought up something American, which was just meant for context. I have no animosity towards you. You make good contributions and I see no reason why we shouldn't be wikifriends. Good luck with the OTD! – Muboshgu (talk) 22:35, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
- That is perfectly fine. Good to hear from you and now the situation has been resolved. Oh, thank you!--BabbaQ (talk) 23:33, 11 September 2013 (UTC)

Prolific editor!
I can't believe you have authored 852 articles (which managed to survive the new pages patrol?)...it's impressive! What are the secrets to your success? Do you start with stubs and gradually build them up to full articles? Or devote a lot of time to create a complete article, one at a time? Liz Read! Talk! 20:48, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
- There are people with many more articles created than I. I work on what I know, which is mostly baseball and US politics, so when I see a new person or event, I go for the stub. And in cases where there is enough information available, I'll work it up to GA. A few of the articles I've created are GAs, though most are probably stub or start. – Muboshgu (talk) 10:36, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
- I can't believe there are Editors with more articles they've created...they must have joined Wikipedia in the early years or be very focused in their work. I'll admit that I've yet to create an article, occupying my time with Wikignome tasks instead. It seems like the new pages patrol is very zealous in deleting new articles and I find that intimidating. I've seen my share of new editors work on articles that are quickly deleted and read their exasperation in their Talk Page comments.
- Perhaps if I start a new article as a stub, it'll pass through that gauntlet and then I can build it up? There is much work to be done in my field (social sciences) but the thought of spending hours crafting an article only to have it deleted has me stalled.
- Oh, thanks for replying to my comment which kind of came out of the blue! Liz Read! Talk! 11:12, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
- There are currently 515 editors who have created more articles than I. A lot of it is tenure. I've been editing since 2007. I started off as a Wikignome, but moved on to article creations as well as I figured out what I was doing, and as I became more certain of notability requirements. I encourage you to try creating articles on notable subjects. You just have to be sure the subject meets WP:GNG or the specific social science notability guideline. (If there is one? I have an advanced social science degree but don't really like editing in the area of my profession.) You might want to go to WP:AFC for initial help with your first article. – Muboshgu (talk) 14:08, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the encouragement. The Sociology section of Wikipedia is kind of a mess, very incomplete and spotty compared to the physical and natural sciences. I'll confess that it is easier for me to write a 30 page paper on a topic than to write 5-10 paragraphs trying to sum up all perspectives on a theoretical concept. Another obstacle is that I have a pretty substantial library but I've recently moved and it is all boxed up in the basement right now. It seems like, again and again, I see articles deleted for a lack of sufficient references and citations so I know that is critical.
- Right now, I'm Wikignoming. I've been editing, on and off (mostly off) since 2007 and only recently found myself with some extra time to spend working on Wikipedia. I also spend some time on more subject-specific Wikia sites but I've actually found more instances there of the smaller sites being dominated by a small group of Admins (and often, there is only one, powerful Admin). The sheer size of Wikipedia means that there is more of a diversity of subject matter, opinion and approaches as long as one works within the 5 Pillars and policy guidelines.
- But I realize that the heart of WP is article creation so I'd like to eventually move into that area. Thanks for the advice! Liz Read! Talk! 13:50, 14 September 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of List of baseball nicknames/Editnotice
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on List of baseball nicknames/Editnotice requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. ...William 23:40, 14 September 2013 (UTC)
