Raúl Alcántara (born December 4, 1992) is a professional baseball pitcher in the Oakland Athletics organization. He was added to the Athletics 40-man roster on November 20, 2013.[1]

On December 29, 2011 he was traded from the Boston Red Sox to the Oakland Athletics for Andrew Bailey and Ryan Sweeney.[2]

Jeremy Barfield younger brother to Josh Barfield, and son to Jesse Barfield was selected by the New York Mets in the 2006 MLB Draft. Following a week long argument with his father, he pushed him down the stairs resulting in the hospitalization of Jesse and the arrest of Jeremy.[3]

Billy Burns (born August 30, 1989) is a professional baseball outfielder in the Oakland Athletics organization.

Burns was drafted by the Washington Nationals in the 32nd round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft out of Mercer University.[4] He started the 2013 season with the Potomac Nationals and was promoted to the Double-A Harrisburg Senators during the season.[5] After the season he was named the Nationals Minor League Player of the Year.[6][7] On December 11, 2013 he was traded to the Oakland Athletics for Jerry Blevins.[8]

Alden Jeffrey-Adam Carrithers (born November 18, 1984 in San Luis Obispo, California USA) is a minor league baseball third baseman currently in the Oakland Athletics organization.

Prior to playing professionally, he attended Oregon Episcopal School (though he played for Beaverton High School, as Oregon Episcopal did not field a baseball team) and then University of California-Santa Barbara, before settling at UCLA. He hit .285 in 44 games as a college freshman at the University of California-Santa Barbara and .342 in 53 games as a sophomore. He was second in the Big West Conference in on-base percentage with a .465 mark in 2006, .002 behind Evan Longoria. He led the conference in walks with 45 and was third in runs scored with 60. A second baseman at the time, he formed a double play combination with Buster Posey for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox of the Cape Cod League, hitting .268 with 20 runs in 37 games. He transferred to UCLA for his junior year.

He hit .352 in 61 games his first year at UCLA, though he hit only .198 for the Orleans Cardinals in the Cape Cod League. His Cape Cod League double play partner that year was his UCLA teammate, Brandon Crawford. As a senior at UCLA he batted .377 with 51 runs and 47 RBI in 59 games. He was named the team MVP. He and Cord Phelps were the All-Pac-10 second basemen.

He was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 15th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft, with the signing scout being Tim McWilliam, and played in their system through 2010. In his first professional year, 2008, he hit .316 with 16 steals in 17 attempts and 28 walks; he also handled 155 chances without an error in 39 games for the GCL Tigers. He led Gulf Coast League second basemen in fielding percentage. He split 2009 between the Oneonta Tigers and the West Michigan Whitecaps, hitting a combined .298 with 10 stolen bases in 50 games.[9] In 2010, he played for the Lakeland Flying Tigers and the Erie SeaWolves, hitting .312 while scoring 70 times, stealing 17 bases in 25 attempts and drawing 78 walks in 119 games. Despite hitting .309 in his three years in the Tigers organization, he was released in March 2011.

The Chicago White Sox signed him for the 2011 campaign, and he hit .276 with 51 walks to 33 strikeouts and 19 stolen bases in 22 attempts for the Birmingham Barons. Chicago released him during the following offseason to make room for signees Osvaldo Martinez and Ray Olmedo. The Atlanta Braves signed him and he played for the 2012 Mississippi Braves, hitting .315 in 74 games. In 2013, he hit a combined .284 with 16 stolen bases in 102 games split between Mississippi and the Triple-A Gwinnett Braves. He was granted free agency by the Braves after the 2013 season and signed with the Athletics.

Jacob Dwayne Goebbert (born September 24, 1987) is a professional baseball outfielder in the Oakland Athletics organization.

Goebbert went to Hampshire High School, where he played baseball and American football.[10][11] He then went to Northwestern University, where he played college baseball for the Northwestern Wildcats baseball team in the Big Ten Conference. During his collegiate career, Goebbert played for the Southern Ohio Copperheads of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League in collegiate summer baseball.

The Astros drafted Goebbert in the 13th round (401st overall) of the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft. They invited him to spring training in 2012.[12]

On April 4, 2013, the Houston Astros traded Goebbert to the Oakland Athletics

Tyler J. Ladendorf (born March 7, 1988 in Park Ridge, Illinois) is a minor-league second baseman in the Oakland Athletics organization. He played some third base with the Gulf Coast League Twins in 2008.

Ladendorf was originally drafted by the New York Yankees in the 34th round of the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft, but did not sign. A year later, San Francisco Giants drafted Ladendorf, again in the 34th round, and he again did not sign, opting instead to return to Howard College for another season. He signed with the Minnesota Twins after the club drafted him in the second round, #60 overall, in the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft.[13]

The 21-year-old infielder began the 2009 season with the Rookie-level Elizabethton Twins and batted .410 with four home runs and 17 runs batted in before earning a promotion to the class A Beloit Snappers.[14]

On July 31, 2009, he was traded to the Athletics for veteran shortstop Orlando Cabrera.[15] He was batting .233 with four RBIs in 15 games with Beloit at the time of the trade.

Jefry Leonal Marte Paulino (born June 21, 1991) is a Dominican professional baseball player for the Oakland Athletics organization.

Marte played for the St. Lucie Mets of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League in 2011[16] and the Binghamton Mets of the Class AA Eastern League in 2012. He participated in the All-Star Futures Game during the 2011 season and the Arizona Fall League after the 2011 season.[17]

He was traded to the Athletics from the Mets on December 18, 2012 in exchange for outfielder Collin Cowgill.[18]

William L. McKinney (born August 23, 1994) is an American professional baseball player for the Oakland Athletics organization.

McKinney attended Plano West Senior High School. He led the school's baseball team to the state's Class 5A semifinals.[23] McKinney was selected by the Athletics in the first round, with the 24th overall selection, of the 2013 MLB Draft.[24] He signed with the Athletics, receiving a $1.8 million signing bonus.[25]
