Nadine Alexis Paguia Lustre (born October 31, 1993 in Quezon City, Philippines), better known as Nadine Lustre, is a Filipina actress, television host and singer. She is best known for her role as Eya Rodriguez in the film adaptation of Diary ng Panget[2] and as Georgina Evangelista in the television remake of the Bagets film series.[2] Lustre was a member and oftentimes lead vocalist of the all-female group called Pop Girls.[2] Eventually, she left the group and became a solo singer.

Acting career

2002-2013: Beginning, TV5 and GMA Network

Lustre started as a TV host in RPN's children oriented show entitled Storyland, when she was nine years old. She became one of the members of the cast in TV5's youth-oriented program Bagets, being a talent of Viva Entertainment. Lustre also appeared in the film Petrang Kabayo with Vice Ganda on the lead role, and starred in P. S. I Love You[3] a drama series in TV5.

Lustre appeared in several GMA Network shows including performances in SOP Rules.

2014: Career breakthrough

When Viva Films got the film rights of the best-selling novel Diary ng Panget by HaveYouSeenThisGirL, she got the role of the main protagonist, Eya Rodriguez. She starred together with James Reid, Yassi Pressman and Andre Paras.[4][5] The film was released on April 2, 2014 and became a box-office hit earning at least 119.5 million pesos during its 4-week run.[6][7][8][9][10][11]

Lustre together with James Reid and Joseph Marco, starred in another film adaptation entitled Talk Back and You're Dead, which is based on the best-selling book of the same name by Alesana Marie.[12] The film was released on August 20, 2014, in theaters nationwide.

On August 27, 2014, Lustre along with on-screen partner James Reid signed a two-year exclusive contract with ABS-CBN (as ABS-CBN reacquired Reid) that was attended by some of the prominent figures of the station.[13] For her television projects with James Reid in ABS-CBN, she portrayed the lead female role Anika Andres in the Wansapanataym month-long special entitled My App Boyfie[14] on October, and Carmina Joven in their MMK debut[15] on its Valentine's Day episode.

She starred again with James Reid in Para sa Hopeless Romantic, a film adaptation of the best-selling novel with the same name written by Marcelo Santos III. The movie was released on May 13, 2015.[16] She also had a special role in the horror film Chain Mail by Viva Films, which premiered on August 22, 2015.

Present

She will next be seen on television as Leah Olivar in the upcoming ABS-CBN Primetime Bida series On The Wings Of Love. She will star alongside James Reid, her on-screen partner.

Music career

As a singer, she joined the all-female group Pop Girls that was launched by Viva Entertainment where she often acted as the lead vocalist. She eventually left the group and started a solo music career.

Lustre rose to fame in early 2014 when she made a movie Diary ng Panget, and had hit singles such as No Erase, Paligoy-ligoy, Bahala Na, Para-paraan, and Hanap-hanap. In 2015, her song Me and You, from her self-titled album, was given the Titanium Award by SBS PopAsia, which is a popular Australian music show that broadcasts Asian pop hits on digital radio, online and on mobile devices such as music videos of K-pop idols in South Korea.[17] Lustre is among other famous artists like K-pop groups Super Junior, U-KISS and EXO who had songs that achieved Titanium status.[18]

Lustre and Callalily vocalist Kean Cipriano interpreted the song written by Mark Villar (not the Las Piñas Congressman) entitled Sa Ibang Mundo for the 2015 PhilPop songwriting competition. They earned the People's Choice Award and the song was the second runner-up during the 2015 PhilPop's finals night held on July 25, 2015 at the Meralco Theater.[19]

Personal life

Lustre was born on October 31, 1993 in Quezon City, Philippines. Her parents are Myraquel Paguia-Lustre and Ulyses Lustre. She attended Diliman Preparatory School and is currently taking up Communication Arts in Colegio de San Lorenzo, Quezon City.[2][20]

She was ranked number 49 among FHM Philippines 100 Sexiest Women for 2015. She was joined in the list by her friend and fellow cosplayer Myrtle Sarrosa, and Yassi Pressman on her second year run. FHM is considering her to be on their cover in the next few months. Lustre earlier posed for FHM sister magazine like Cosmopolitan, Candy and Men's Health Philippines for August 2015 while Julie Anne San Jose posed for Preview, making them as the biggest contender for FHM Philippines 100 Sexiest Women in 2016 seeking dethronement of Jennylyn Mercado.[21][22][23]
